Just a week out....
Hello Brothers and Sisters,
My surgery was 6/3/04 and I've lost 17 lbs., but I can't really feel it yet.
I'm feeling pretty good, but have had alot of trouble with insomnia. My husband got me some liquid benadryl and that helped last night. I wake up when I turn due to incision pain.
I'm on a liquid diet for a month, and it looks forever away to me. My family eats as normal, and I've even prepared a few meals for the gang, but it's sure hard to sit and pretend I'm fine with my broth. I think I'll go clean out my craft room a bit, and during meal time I can go there to play. I have a ton of sewing to do, need to make some new scrubs.
I'm an RN, work full time, have a blended family with 7 kids (4 at home) and a wonderful husband. I'm REALLY looking forward to next week when I feel stronger and have a week off work to do some reading and watch some movies I've been wanting to see.
Glad to see this board, and I hope to get to know you all.
Tracey
Hi Tracey. Congratulations on your weight loss!
When I was on a liquid diet I lived on water and water and more water. One day my DH went and bought me some campbells chicken noodle soup. I made it and strained out the noodles, chicken and vegies and drank the soup. WONDERFUL, by that point it was the best stuff and very, very satisfying.
Just an idea for something else to try.
OT now -
The bishop read a statement from the first presidency in our sacrament meeting today. Starting July 1st anyone buying garments will need to present a temple recommend or have their church membership number. Those who do not have it will need to present a picture ID and a date of birth. Any one ordering off the internet will need to supply their church membership number to order.
That was the end of the statement. I have my own personal opinion as to why the change in policy. There has been a rash of people lately selling brand new garments on e-bay. I think this is one way to make it harder for people to buy the garments and then disrespect them. When I first learned that people were selling them on e-bay I looked it up and sure enough there were 6 or 7 different people selling men and women's garments. They claimed that any size was available through this e-bay sell.
Back to a more pleasant topic -
Good luck with your weight loss journey.
Melody
Dear Melody,
I just got off the phone and my mother was telling me about the garment thing, then I hopped on here and your note.....too funny! I have about every size from here on down.....a HUGE drawer full, but none fit.....haha
BUT, I do need to get my husband some. Oh well, it's really not an issue for us, we can still get them.
I'm shocked about them being for sale on ebay. Hmmmmmm
Too wierd.
Your photo looks so familiar to me, but I haven't ever lived in Idaho. I'm from Oregon origianlly, now in Washington due to my new marriage of 5 years.
But you look so familiar.
Maybe we were pals in the pre......you never know.
Have a good day. Tracey
