Question of the day
That's no fun. Yes it was probably informative and therefore good to read. But I sure do enjoy a novel where I can get lost in and live in another world for awhile. I'm a read-a-holic and when I pick up a good book I don't like to do anything until I'm finished. When I read the series "The work and the glory" I could read one entire book in a day.

I'm almost finished with John Grisham's The King of Torts
Just read a wonderful book called Wild Swans that I got at some old book sale....it was moldy...almost didnt' buy it.....but I served my mission in Taiwan and never really understood the Chinese revolution and how Taiwan came to be....communism, all that.....
Well, this book was about 3 generations of women, how the grandmother had bound feet, was a concubine, then a wife later, and her repression and life....then her daughter was a communist soldier, and her tortures and interrigation.....then the life of the granddaughter being raised to believe in communism and her slow understanding of it's evils and how Chairman Mao was such a tyrant. It was written by the granddaughter, and was so wonderful. I couldn't put it down, and I feel like I understand the Chinese recent history soooo much better. I wish I'd have read it before my mission.
I REALLY need to do another reading of the Book of Mormon though, it tends to soften me and I'm a much better person for about 6 months after I read it.....

Hi EVERYONE
I'm about half finished with Runaway Jury..I keep getting pulled away from it. My sweetie and I have been reading the Work and the Glory series together and just love it. I do need to be more diligent regarding reading the scriptures though..I love them and once I get started I hate to put them down..its just getting started...
Have a wonderful weekend everyone..the sun is out in Fort Worth now. Loved all the rain too.

Sherrie,
I have an autistic grandson who is just the sweetest little guy, if given half a chance. My daughter is often beside herself and they have moved here, from Afton, WY so they could have a support system. She has so much guilt. Is this a book that will help her alleviate that or will it make it worse?
Thanks for any info.
Grins,
Kaye
This book was really insightful - more about taking care of YOURSELF as a mom with an autistic kid then about the kid themselves - sometimes when you have special needs kids you tend to blame yourself and put yourself last - this book dispenses a lot of myths and makes it ok to put yourself first.
