NEED NEW FOOD IDEAS!
I'm in a rut too Hydi. I eat basically the same thing every day. I get the Tyson Chicken patties from Costco 17-20 gms of protein in each patty. I generally have one everyday for lunch. My family eats something totally different (we are a casserole family) and I don't eat the potatos, noodles or casserole items.
I'm six months out and in the last 6 months I have boughten Banquet TV dinners when they were on sale. The meatloaf, and the salisbury steak are good, lots of protein and a nice break from eating the same thing every day.
I also get the wafer meats that come in the little packages that you make a sandwich out of, I'll just eat on that (no bread, just meat).
I'm really in a rut. Same thing day in and day out. I concentrate so much on protein that I sacrafice variety.
I'm anxious to read other posts on this topic.
I wish you luck Hydi.

Me toooooo..I need some new stuff to eat...
I have been eating chili/cheese...refriedbeans/cheese...pinto beans/cheese...string cheese...starting to eat small salads...still don't do well with chicken unless its chicken soup/stew....have had some mashed pototoes...tried greenbeans cooked in cream of mushroom soup the other day and did ok. I can eat about 1/2 of a burito supreme. Tried eating the top of a pizza..that was not such a good thing for me..didn't get sick but felt very uncomfortable after. I get those buddig packages of really super thin sliced turkey and put cream cheese with onion/chive in the middle too. Thats pretty good.
I do eat some cereal like special K with strawberries occasionally. Sometimes I eat a soft cooked egg with salsa on top and cheese...
I still drink protein drinks and eat protein bars. I found I was getting addicted to Cheese It crackers..the low fat ones so I don't buy those anymore.
Catch ya'll tomorrow.

That's awesome about the Cheez-Its! I'm a recovering Cheez-It-aholic. I vowed yesterday that I wouldn't buy anymore. What is it about them that's so irresistible?!
I've pretty much got the same menu as you; lots of beans, cheese, yogurts and meat. I love having dried fruit (especially prunes, which works out great in the bathroom department
) for dessert. I also eat lots of veggies and raw fruit when I've eaten a good portion of protein.
I've noticed something weird about my eating, too. I can only eat 1/2 a 6 oz. yogurt in the morning and it's often uncomfortable but by the evening I can usually eat about 5-6 oz. of food just fine. I can also "chug" water. Is this happening to anyone else?
A thanks for everyone's input so far! Ya'll are the best!
Right now I am roasting Garbonzo Beans (great crunchy snack)
Last week-end the ward had a dutch oven cookout and it got me "in the mood" to yank out our dutch ovens and give them a whirl.
(my fire building needs a bit of work) but I dumped some cubed chicken in the bottom with som chopped broccolli on top of it and poured creamed mushroom soup over it and added some cheese and cooked it on the fire...it was SOOO good. My dh can't wait to try more dutch oven dinners now! Ü
I got stuff to try a chicken with green beans and stuffing.
I have been in a canned dhilli rut for lunch times though.
How about if we share recipes and meal ideas. I'm sick of mine but maybe someone else will like them.
I like to have a small tomato hollowed out (not completely though) with cottage cheese in it.
I also like low fat chili. My hubby made a good one for the 24th. I'll find the recipe and post it.
Omletes with canadian bacon or a slice of thin ham are good. I always have it with cheese and salsa.
Land O' Lakes has a cheese (I just discovered it, maybe it's not new though) that's called Land O' Lakes Naturally Slender. It's very good.
Boy, come to think of it I don't have a lot of recipes for myself. Mostly, I make my family stuff and pick the 'good for me' parts out. No wonder I'm bored with my food.
