Thursday's Question of the Day
O.K. I guess nobody's awake to post more questions. My kids are being good (I LOVE SESAME STREET!) so I'll pop out a couple more for you.
1. What is one thing you enjoyed about being overweight? (I know, this one may take a while to answer).
2. The weather is perfect outside, you have a day off, it's your favorite season, and you have sufficient funds in the bank. What are you going to do today?
3. When was the last time you followed the spirit and blessed someone else's life?
4. What are your favorite and least favorite chores around the house?
O.K. My answers:
1. Not feeling guilty when I'd eat an entire box of Krispy Kreme. That's about it!
2. It would be fall and my hubby and I would take a day trip to look at the covered bridges and leaves, all the yuppie things. Maybe we'd rent a nice car, too, since we have 'sufficient funds.'
3. Mmmm, maybe when I gave a talk in Feb. on love. It turned into a talk about the Saviors love for us and I can honestly say every word was given by the spirit. I remember a lot of people crying and a lot approached me later.
4. I love to do the dishes (once I'm doing them) and hate to do the laundry. At least until it's all washed, folded, and in drawers and then I love that I did it.
Hi Hydi and everyone else too
1. What is one thing you enjoyed about being overweight? (I know, this one may take a while to answer).
I really enjoyed not having anything I ate bother me..I loved eating a big steak with potato...but not as much as I love how I feel now. I have to keep reminding myself of that.
2. The weather is perfect outside, you have a day off, it's your favorite season, and you have sufficient funds in the bank. What are you going to do today?
I'm going to hop on my motorcycle and just goooooooo. Hubby and I love to ride and we just pick new spots to go explore.
3. When was the last time you followed the spirit and blessed someone else's life?
I think inviting a friend over for dinner that I didn't realize was having some problems and needed and ear.
4. What are your favorite and least favorite chores around the house?
I love to rearrange things. I love to have a nice clean neat house but I hate cleaning. I think because it's just me and hubby even though he is wonderful isn't very helpful when it comes to cleaning so I feel I get stuck with it and I get resentful...plus I would much rather work in the yard than in the house anyday. But my least favorite things are vacuuming and dusting.
Thanks for the questions....have a wonderful weekend everyone.

1. What is one thing you enjoyed about being overweight? (I know, this one may take a while to answer).
I liked having a handy excuse for everything - nobody asked me to do stuff because they knew I didnt have the energy, if I didnt want to shop I told hubby I was too tired, etc. - cant get out of stuff now. (But thats wonderful)
2. The weather is perfect outside, you have a day off, it's your favorite season, and you have sufficient funds in the bank. What are you going to do today?
It would be spring, and I would be in Orlando with my kids, going through all the fun stuff at Walt Disney World.
3. When was the last time you followed the spirit and blessed someone else's life?
I was driving round for about a week with all my plus sized clothes in my trunk, when I saw a lady about the size I used to be dressed raggedy with her kids, and asked her if she wanted the clothes. She greatfully chose about 8 things from my trunk.
4. What are your favorite and least favorite chores around the house?
my least favorite is windows. my favorite is cleaning closets.

1. What is one thing you enjoyed about being overweight?
Eating. I'm addicted to food. I lived to eat. I would finish one meal and think about how I could use the leftovers. Eating anything I wanted and as much as I wanted is the one thing I miss.
2. The weather is perfect outside, you have a day off, it's your favorite season, and you have sufficient funds in the bank. What are you going to do today?
I would take my children to Disneyland. I've been several times but my children never have. I would take all 5 of them and make a family outing just enjoying them and enjoying the fun time we woud have. We live so far away that if money were no object we would all fly (another first for my children), rent a car and take enjoy.
3. When was the last time you followed the spirit and blessed someone else's life?
This isn't the last time but it is a memorable time for me. My work history is being an ambulance technician. I worked full time ambulance for 23 years. One Easter I was on ambulance duty when the ambulance pager went off for us to respond to an injury accident. I was on duty but the Spirit told me "don't go". As that exact second another member, who was off duty, contacted me and told me that she would respond to the accident.
About 10 minutes later the Spirit very loudly and definately told me "get ready to go, you're needed now" and The Spirit then told me the name of the person in the accident that I would be taking care of. I was also told that someone had died and the name of the person who had died. I got ready to go and the ambulance responding to the accident realized that because of the CPR being done on the person, another ambulance would be needed to transport the mother.
I responded to the ambulance call and took care of the mother. I was the one who told the mother that her child had died.
This was special because the woman was the bishop's wife. That Easter Sunday the family was on their way to Stake Conference when the accident occured. Due to my level of training, if I had been the one *****sponded on the first ambulance I would have been involved in the CPR. I was needed to be with the Bishop's wife (who at that time was a dear personal friend of mine). This dear woman has always told me how special it was and how much easier it was for her for me to be the one to tell her her son had died.
When the ambulance was first dispatched, it was not known that someone had died. It was also unknown to the ambulance crew the identity of the family. I knew. I KNEW. The Spirit told me the identity of the family and the fact that the child had died.
This was a very spiritual moment for all of us.
4. What are your favorite and least favorite chores around the house?
Favorite would be cooking. Least favorite would be cleaning.
Wow, Melody! That's an amazing story. It gave me goosebumps and made my heart skip a beat. It's so wonderful that you were in tuned to the spirit at that time. It reminds me of a quote I read the other day. "If we live worthy of divine guidance, as we are privileged to do, we shall not go very far astray. --Joseph F. Merrill" I'm sure that was an moment that has held you close to the gospel many times.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hydi
Thanks Heidi, for doing these today.
1. What is one thing you enjoyed about being overweight? (I know, this one may take a while to answer).
Eating. Oh, yes, maybe the fact that babies loved to cuddle me and I think it is because I am squishy! lol
2. The weather is perfect outside, you have a day off, it's your favorite season, and you have sufficient funds in the bank. What are you going to do today?
There are so many things! But the first thing that came to mind is a crisp sunny winter day in the mountains of New Hampshire on a snowmobile!
3. When was the last time you followed the spirit and blessed someone else's life?
Not the last thing, but recent. My downstairs neighbor, (that I didn't know really well) asked me to babysit her tiny baby, while she went to work. I did and she asked me a couple more times. She lives alone with the baby and has a son (8) who lives with his Dad. I really didn't want to as I am a night owl and she started work at 5 and 6 am. The last time, she stayed awhile and we talked. She thanked me profusely and told me that she hated bothering me but she was going to lose her job if she missed anymore work. That would have been devastating as she had been working hard to get a car and into a position that she could go to college and make a better life for her family. If I had not listened to the spirit, she would have lost her job. I am grateful for inspiration.
4. What are your favorite and least favorite chores around the house?
I love to cook and make things. I despise straightening up and decluttering. I am unorganized!

Kaye
