New Temple
Hello, Sisters and Brothers.
I know it has been awhile since I was here. Life can get rough sometimes. I have missed you all!
Presently, I am involved with something soooooo exciting! We are getting a new Temple here in San Antonio.
It is OUR TEMPLE!!! Just 11 miles to my front door!
Some of you might not think much of that but I have never lived near one. This is awesome. I have always been so envious of those who have one.
The open house starts tomorrow. Yayyyyyyyyyyy
I am so excited about all of this. Granted, my contributions are really minor but still, just to be allowed to help in small ways is, to me, an honor!
There will be the open house, then a jubilee and, of course, the dedication. I can hardly contain my excitment.
Also, I am catching up on my genealogy. That is really really really fun. I love doing the research. IT is the paperwork that is trying.
Well, take care all.
Grins,
Kaye
Hi Kaye-wonderful things happen when you get a temple in your town! We just have the one here in MN, about 30 min away from me. It is so nice to finally have one that isn't a day away. Take advantage of being able to go-I was going 2-3 times a month, but slacked off in the last year because I am in school, and just not feeling up to it (my weight has affected my health a lot this last year) One of the things I am looking forward to after WLS is being able to sit comfortably in the seats again!
Good luck with your family history-I am clueless about it, and I know I have to get started on it, so kudos to you!
take care,
lynn k
Kaye, I know your excitement about getting a temple in your area. At the October General Conference it was announced that we would be getting a temple in our area (only 30 miles from where I live). This is still a couple years away from completion but the thought of having it only 30 minutes away opposed to hours away is a dream come true.
Congratulations on your temple and use it, use it, use it!

Small world Christy. I actually live in Shoshone. You'd never recognize Twin Falls anymore. It's really growing.
I'm sure your mother is keeping you updated on the temple progress in Twin Falls. Everytime we go there we drive by and look. The grounds are all staked out, staked out like a grid. Nothing is recognizable yet as buildings. Still seeing the stakes are exciting in itself.
Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel even closer to those on this board when we have something like this in common.
Melody
