I'm on the other side....

So my surgery was Tuesday-everything went perfect and I was in a room by noon. I know that having a blessing before and all the prayers and thoughts sent my way have really helped. I am a little sore if I don't take the pain med, but other than that am doing very well. I have no problems drinking-can get in 70 oz of fluid in a day easily. I will be on clear liquids til Weds, then a few days of full liquids, then pureed foods-not really hungry at all, but at least the pouch is letting me know when I drink too fast or too big of a gulp. I came home on Thursday, and have been pretty much sleeping most of the time-did a little walking around, some reading, but back to bed and sleep. I am using my cpap everytime I lay down to rest and I know that it is helping the healing a lot. So far no crying or regrets-just glad to be on the other side and have no complications. looking forward to being a loser, and healthy! thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers- lynn

Lynn I'm impressed that you can do 70 oz of liquids all ready. I couldn't work up to 70 oz of liquids for about 4 months. Sounds like you're doing wonderful. Keep up the positive attitude and the liquids. Keep us updated on your progress. Melody

Heck...I'm 10 months out and barely get that in. Keep up the great work Lynn. I struggle daily to get in my "required 64oz" and this summer I'm headed for some trouble if I don't get it in that is for sure. Now on to Melody. Bit of a hi-jack post here... You look GREAT!! I love the new picture. And I guess I read or new that you were down to the weight you are...but it never really 'sank' in... Congrats to you my dear!! You deserve it. I read in your profile that your MS still gives you some trouble - that was a few months ago. How about now? Still the same? catch you later. Love, Gala

Yes Gala, my MS is still deteriorating. Par for the course of the disease. I drag my left leg. It's as if it's a dead weight hanging onto my body. Sometimes I have to physically lift my leg by my pant to move my foot a step forward. I had a routine appointment with my neurologist and he noticed the problems with my leg and decided it was time for me to go back to the hospital for another round of IV steroid treatments. I just finished them and things seem to be better for now. I just have the unpleasantness of the aftereffects of the steroids. I'm going through a steroid crisis which means that I feel like I have the worst case of the flu and will continue to feel this way for another week. That's the downside of the steroid treatment. Thanks for asking. Melody
