Hello Everyone, Just thought I would pop in and say hi this morning. I'm in between bus routes and spending some time at the library. I hope everyone is doing good. School is underway. And for those w/little ones in school hopefully it settled your lives down. What's New for Me: I'm 14 mo. post op. Been at my goal for 2 months. In the realm of things I'm doing okay. My children are breathing, my dh is breathing so to me that signifies we are doing okay. As always there is something going on in our life. I've decided that HF must not think living a stress free life is for me. I'm dealing with the challenges faced before me and hopefully can/will come out stronger than before. How about you? What is new for you this Tuesday? Gala

Good morning Gala. This board has been quiet for far too long. For some reason, I can't log into the Mormonism forum on my computer. I have to wait until someone posts and go into their post to get on the site. I've contacted OH and they tell me the problem must be with my computer. So I guess that I'll just keep hoping that members in this forum post so I can enter and get involved. We know that Heavenly Father won't give us anymore than we can handle (with his help) and I teasingly say "I wish he wouldn't trust me so much" - my challenges are often overwhelming, but with His help we're getting through. Fall in the Northwest is beginning. The leaves are started to change colors and just beginning to fall off the trees. Our mornings are cool (temps in the 40's and our afternoons warm up to the 70's. I've started to go to a physical therapist per my doctor's orders. They're working on helping my muscle spasms get a little more under control. I walk hunched over. When my physical therapist did his exam on me he asked me if I'd ever had scoliosis. I told him "no". He then gave me the news that I now have spasm induced scoliosis. The spasms on one side of my body are more severe and have pulled my spine out of line. Life is fun. Life for me is marching on. We take it day at a time and sometimes it's taking it hour at a time or moment at a time. But the important part is that we ARE taking it. We're not quitting and we're not giving up (although the impulse to just give up is very strong some days). I'm 18 months post op and have been 25 lbs lower than my doctor's goal for 5 months now. This weight (120 lbs) feels so good that I'd like to lose another 8 pounds and I'm slowly working toward that new goal. I didn't make up that new goal. My neurologist told me that I wasn't too thin and he'd like to see me lose another 8 pounds. So don't think I'm going anorexic on you. This was a doctor's suggestion. I think a good one. I definately have that extra 8 pounds hanging around. Hope all is well and this board gets busy. I've missed coming here every day. Melody

I'm sorry you are having problems with posting on this board. I can imagine it is frustrating for you that is for sure. Be careful on how much more you loose. As long as you are healthy and doing it in a 'good' way - than go for it. I know first hand that it is easy to go from one extreme to the other. Because I'm battling the demons right now myself. No, I'm not underweight. However, you don't have to be underweight to have anorexia. And to be completely honest with you it is harder than being 305 lbs and dealing w/being SMO!!! Today was the last 'warm' day I guess. It is late September and was 85 degrees today. WOW!! But I do admit it was lovely. Take Care and have a great day. Gala
