Hubby is 5 weeks post op... What did you all do regarding the bread for sacrament??? Obviously he cant eat it. He has been taking a teeny tiny nibble off the corner.... Just wondering what everyone else did?

My dh and I both did very tiny pieces - the smallest on the tray. And then I would suck on it so it would dissolve in my mouth. Gala

Low carb or no bread doesn't pertain to Sacrament. Believe me...it is perfectly okay to eat it. Have the faith that it is okay....please. Don't miss out on the Sacrament. The size of the bread is such an insignificant amount that it is highly unlikely your husband will have a problem with it. You will not dump or get sick from it. Christy

When I was two weeks out, I took the bread and I took the smallest piece I could find on the tray without the crust on it. And I had no problems with it whatsoever. It is so important to participate in this ordinance that the bread is but a small obstacle. It will be fine if he had a small piece without the crust. Donna

Darlene, with Fast Sunday coming up I thought I would clue EJ in on how those that have had WLS are supposed to fast. We absolutely cannot abstain from food and water for 24 hours. This can be very dangerous to our health. We need to think of our fast as that of a diabetic or someone else with a medical problem. We consume the minimum required for our health but we don't over do it or eat just because there's food around. We need to maintain the fast by moderation but still be considerate of our health concerns. Wishing EJ lots of luck in his journey. Melody
