Topic: Just wondering if anyone is out there that has done the Lapband?
Hi everyone! I was just wondering if anyone is out there that is Mormon and has done the Lap Band. This board seems somewhat stale but I hope there are some still around.
I am in the process of have WLS with the Lapband and would just like to talk to someone that is also Mormon like me!
Hope to hear back from some one. PM me if you like!
Take care and have a great day!

I'm new here but as a fellow Sister in the Church, I feel drawn to help. Are you able to talk about "the mess" I may have gone through simular experiences and can help. Keep praying and then listen really listen. Answers will come maybe not in your time but in the Lords Time.

Topic: Reaching out
I am so sorry I have not been here in a while. My life is such a mess I don't know where to begin. I would ask that you keep me in your prayers as I try to figure this out.
Topic: RE: MORMON CHURCH UNDER ATTACK ON OTHER BOARD - Help!
I have a gay son and Ido understand the rationale behind Prop. 8 However, I do still believe that marriage is to be a man and a woman. I have mixed feelings on this subject but, I do support those that support their beliefs. I do support marriage between man and woman.

Just checking back in with you. How are you doing post surgery?
Looks like you've already lost a lot in this short time.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your input.
Not sure how it happened, but PB has become my new favorite "diet" food. I think it's because it really tends to stick (no pun intended) with me.
Good luck on your continued journey!

Hi and welcome. Glad you stopped by. Congratulations on getting your surgery date and best wishes.
Prior to surgery, I was a major carb'aholic. One reason I got so heavy in the first place. I could sit in front of the TV and consume a large back of chips without even noticing until it was empty!
At a year out now, I do eat occasionally those bar-b-q chips I so loved, but only about 10 chips at time cause I can't eat anymore than that. Satisfies the crave and then I am done.
I have been able to eat half a sandwich on whole wheat of my fav Peanut butter and Jelly for the last few months. That is all I can handle at one meal now.
I have found since my surgery that I eat a lot less meat then before. I have had to find alternatives since I don't really like eating meat as it is hard for me to get down and sometimes makes me sick. Hamburger is fine and so is seafood, but chicken, turkey or steak is a real problem. I do a lot of the dairy items, beans, jerky, bacon, sliced deli meats and protein shakes.
Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Even though we have diff surgeries, we probably go thru a lot of the same eating issues initially.
