Topic: RE: New to the board, LDS living in AZ!
Hi Melody,
Great to hear from you! Im having the same WLS as you. I have done a lot of reading, looking and asking. I feel pretty good about my choice. My wls is Sept 25. Im a self pay. Heavenly Father has been very good to our family. Everything came together shortly after we found out that our insur. comp did not pay for WlS.
Im a stay at home mommie on a budget. I KNOW how blessed I am to be able to have these years with my girls. Im thankful everyday to be home with them and homeschool my oldest.
I worry about what can go wrong and have read others that have lived thru WLS but are paying for it. I do give my worries to Heavenly Father but I am human and they tend to come up for time to time.
26 years to a non memeber! WOW That must be hard. I converted 1st then my hubby the following month. We have been members 2 years in Sept. I love the church.
And know that it is truth. I know the book of Mormon is sound and Smith was choosen to lead us where we are today. Im so greatful to have a ward that is so loving. I have many true wonderful friends!
Now time for bed!

Donna, what an achievement. I'm pleased for you. I rode a bike as a child but I'm afraid of getting anywhere near a bike now.
Keep up the good work and keep achieving your goals.

Hi Shannon, Welcome to this board. My name is Melody I check this board every couple days as we go through periods of time where we are really quiet. It's good to have new people join us.
Please feel free to post feelings, events that are happening in your life or just to vent. We may not know the answers but we are here to listen.
I lost my profile when Obesityhelp changed their profile format. I just have never gotten around to creating a new profile for myself.
A little about myself. I had lap RNY in Idaho 3 years ago. I started my journey at 260 lbs. I now weigh in at 120 lbs give or take a few pounds (depending on the time of month). This is the best thing I've ever done for myself. Would I do it again? In a heart beat.
I've been married for 26 years. My husband and I have 5 children ranging in age from 23 to 6 years old. My husband is a non member which brings it's own struggles into our lives.
I live in Idaho in the South Central part of the state.
That's plenty for now.
Welcome to the board. We'd love to hear from you. Feel free to post often. I'd love to have this board become active again.

When I look at your picture, I can't hardly believe you are the same person who came to this board just over 3 years ago. You have really become a butterfly from a caterpiller. You were pretty before but now you are BEAUTIFUL!
I know what you mean about the soft ice cream. Not much cause me to dump but soft ice cream is a definate culprit for me. Until you mentioned soft ice cream, I knew that I had dumped after eating it but until you mentioned it I had never realized that I dump EVERY time after eating it. I learned something today. Thank you. Just when we think we know our own bodies, we are oblivious to obvious things.
Someoone would think that something as important as the surgery date would be easy to remember. I remember the date - March 8th. But I'll be hard pressed to remember the year. It's been just over 3 three years or just over 4 years for me. Would I do it again? In a heart beat. It's the best thing I've ever done. I'm about 30 lbs lower than my surgeons goal weight for me but I'm at a weight that is comfortable , feels and looks good on my frame. Life is good.
Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Hi fellow LDSers.. I love this gospel I do not want to think of what kind of life I would have had without. Its the best. on the 23 it will be three years since my surgery. I am doing well. At times I still eat what I want and will suffer for it. Fried food is the worse. or soft Ice cream like from mcdonalds. So I need that slap in gut to let me behave. Would Love to hear from all of you.,

You know Melody that is so great. Sometimes the blessing dont always come as Money needed but they sure do come. Today I bore my Testimony. My kids will not commite to come see me because of my Life Style (with the Gospel.) and I dont agree with them. So that was so hard for me to handle. They were raised in the church too. But they have strayed. But I have left with the Lord.

Today I did someting that I didn't think I could ever do...I rode a bike! I have an adult three wheeler and i have had some trouble riding it. I have cerebral palsy and my knees are not in the best shape. But, I am getting to the point where I can actually pedal this thing by myself. I am just elated
I never learned to ride as a child my father didn't think I could do it. Now, at 45, I am doing it and it feels great!
Topic: RE: Mormon for President
Given that the past presidents, both dem and rep are busy trashing each other, I feel that a mormon in the white house is a good thing. Or it could be...I sure don't want someone the likes of Hillary Clinton in the hot seat. I just don't think that we are ready for a woman president, and I don't think her morals are good for our country.
That's how I feel about it.
Besides, Romney is getting a lot of press for being mormon. And that is going to be a hot issue in this election. I don't think that the country is ready for an LDS president. Maybe someday.
