Topic: Another NSV
I've had another NSV (non-scale victory) for those of us new to this terminology. This morning I was sitting at the edge of my bed and just for the attempt of it I crossed my legs! I haven't been able to cross my legs for years and years and years. I haven't even tried for the last many years. Not only was I able to cross my legs, my legs fold under each other like you see with the skinny women and the skinny legs. I was able to do this with both my right and my left leg. This is a true NSV for me. My world is a changin. Melody

Bren, I don't see anything SMALL about your NSV. I share those same two goals with you. Finally for the first time in my 23 year marriage I weigh less than my husband and his size 34's are a little big for me. I applaud you on your NSV. I think they're HUGE accomplishments. Melody

First, congratulations on your NSV!! We should all be so fortunate. For me, I had 2 small non-scale goals in mind before surgery and both have become NSV. 1. I wanted to weigh less than my husband...CHECK!! 2. I wanted to be able to wear his pants (size 34)...CHECK!! This has been such a great time in my life. My husband is in the Army and has always been very active, healthy and fit so being overweight and unhealthy has been an issue with us. He is more about being healthy then skinny, but you know the two go hand in hand. I feel like I have done something to be proud of and he is proud of me, not because I'm losing weight, but that I'm getting healthy and taking care of my body. He has been very supportive since the surgery, he sees that it is not the easy road and that I have to work everyday for everything I do like eat, drink, take a poop and he appreciates me for my patience and long-suffering! Thanks for posting...this was a lot of fun! Bren

Yes Gala, my MS is still deteriorating. Par for the course of the disease. I drag my left leg. It's as if it's a dead weight hanging onto my body. Sometimes I have to physically lift my leg by my pant to move my foot a step forward. I had a routine appointment with my neurologist and he noticed the problems with my leg and decided it was time for me to go back to the hospital for another round of IV steroid treatments. I just finished them and things seem to be better for now. I just have the unpleasantness of the aftereffects of the steroids. I'm going through a steroid crisis which means that I feel like I have the worst case of the flu and will continue to feel this way for another week. That's the downside of the steroid treatment. Thanks for asking. Melody

Thanks Lynda. You're too kind. I've been trying to update my picture for about a month and then one day it just showed up. Surprised me. What's that slam about can't waiting to be pretty again? Come on Lynda, you know better than that. You've always been pretty. If you don't see it others do. One comment I would like to make and this is just my own personal thoughts. We know that Christ was fairly average looking. Our sacramental songs say "With no apparent beauty, that man should him desire", yet when I look at a picture of the Savior I see someone very appealing and very lovely to look at. Beauty is definately on the inside. Now for my observation and my opinion. I think that Lucifer is probably a gorgeous looking man (at least to world standards). The reason I think this is because there is sooo much emphasis on physical beauty in this world and I know that this emphasis comes from the promptings of Lucifer. I try every hard not to get caught in the trap of "having a body make-over, boob job, body sculpturing, etc..." because I know the source of these yearnings. I think I would consider having some of my excessive skin removed if it will reduce come of the bacterial infections that occur when the air can't circulate around the midsection (the apron section to be specific). Just my own opinion. But thanks for the compliment on my picture. Melody

Heck...I'm 10 months out and barely get that in. Keep up the great work Lynn. I struggle daily to get in my "required 64oz" and this summer I'm headed for some trouble if I don't get it in that is for sure. Now on to Melody. Bit of a hi-jack post here... You look GREAT!! I love the new picture. And I guess I read or new that you were down to the weight you are...but it never really 'sank' in... Congrats to you my dear!! You deserve it. I read in your profile that your MS still gives you some trouble - that was a few months ago. How about now? Still the same? catch you later. Love, Gala

Lynn I'm impressed that you can do 70 oz of liquids all ready. I couldn't work up to 70 oz of liquids for about 4 months. Sounds like you're doing wonderful. Keep up the positive attitude and the liquids. Keep us updated on your progress. Melody
