Congrats on making it to this point. Hang in there and get well fast. Sounds like you are already on your way to feeling good.
Take Care,

You too Ruthy,
What a difference. You look so much younger. I bet you feel younger too.
Oh, I'm so jealous. I want what you and Melody have. Is this what coveting means? Well then call me a sinner!

Christy, I was once called to be Young Women's secretary and I hated it!
hated it! hated it!
But...there was one young women who just didn't fit in and only I understood how she felt. She gravitated towards me and no other leader. We had long telephone conversations. We just made a connection.
The last I'd heard she had graduated from college and was doing very well.
I hated that calling so bad I couldn't even begin to tell you. Every meeting was agony, every activity was agony, I was lousy at it and I just detested it.
But I was there for this one particular young woman who desperately needed a friend.
Yes, Heavenly Father knows what he is doing. LOL!
Now I serve in Boy Scouts. For some reason I like scouting better. Maybe it's cuz I'm so ornery.

So my surgery was Tuesday-everything went perfect and I was in a room by noon. I know that having a blessing before and all the prayers and thoughts sent my way have really helped. I am a little sore if I don't take the pain med, but other than that am doing very well. I have no problems drinking-can get in 70 oz of fluid in a day easily. I will be on clear liquids til Weds, then a few days of full liquids, then pureed foods-not really hungry at all, but at least the pouch is letting me know when I drink too fast or too big of a gulp. I came home on Thursday, and have been pretty much sleeping most of the time-did a little walking around, some reading, but back to bed and sleep. I am using my cpap everytime I lay down to rest and I know that it is helping the healing a lot. So far no crying or regrets-just glad to be on the other side and have no complications. looking forward to being a loser, and healthy!
thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers-
lynn

Christy, Congrats on the new calling. I have six girls all grown and only one is still active in church. With my first husband it was very diffcult for my girls. There dad smoked and he wasn't active never!
The girls weren't excepted by the other teens and it was so hard.
Well all the love to you. My granddaughter is very active and neither of her parents support her very well. I have to do all for them. I am even going to camp with them.
Again good luck and the Lord will be with you

Ha ha ha! I know that thing with nylons! Obviously a man invented them! Your mentioning nylons reminded me of another NSV. This past Sunday I wore a pair of L'eggs Plain old Queen Size hose to church, and they didn't roll down once! I never had to hitch them up!

My primary lesson last week was on showing support for our church leaders including our ward leaders. We discussed that none of us including the bishop had asked for the calling, we each were called by our Heavenly Father to be in the position were we were serving. I explained to the children that we get in a "comfort zone" and then we are totally surprised when we are called to a position outside that comfort zone. The change is to help us grow and become more like Heavenly Father.
Me thinks your comfort zone was just pulled out from under you. I know that you're going to do wonderful in this calling and before you know it Young Women's will become your new comfort zone.
OT sort of. Tonight about 8:00 pm the door bell rang and in came a group of young women. They were on a service scavenger hunt. They had a list of service that needed completed, like emptying the trash, sweeping a floor, dusting, picking up childrens toys, vacuuming a room. Things that could be completed in 10 minutes or less. We were able to choose two items from the list of service items for them to do and then they were off to the next house. It was a fun service activity for the young women to do. They were all laughing and giggling and racing around. It certainly taught them that service could be fun.
Christy I know you're going to do well in your new calling. Heavenly Father doesn't make mistakes.

Hi Allison. I hope you visit this board often and post. Congratulations on being able to run to 3rd base and beat the ball there. That in itself is an accomplishment even for the skinny dudes.
I'm glad that Alfie asked what a NSV was because I had never heard that abbreviation before either.
OK my NSV is putting on nylons and having them fit. Doesn't seem like a big deal but to me it's HUGE. I teach the Valiant 9 class in Primary and on Sunday in Primary closing exercises I noticed a bulge under my dress. I was at the end of the row next to the wall and very descreetly lifted the bottom of my dress and discovered the bulge was my nylons falling down. I didn't even realize they had slipped. Obviously I was wearing a pair from the fat days. Needless to say I was the last one to leave the primary room after all the children and made a retreat to fix the problem.
Thanks for sharing.

NSV = Non-scale victory. All of those things that happen as a result of losing weight. Like being able to ride in an airplane without the seat belt extender. Being able to paint my toenails by myself, without passing out! Stuff like that! : ) What NSV's has everyone else had?
