Phew! So glad to hear that!!! I've nearly pulled my arm out of the socket to get at that hair. The funniest thing is that I'm so self-conscious about the stretchmarks that I never really raise my arms. I could have a small animal under there an no one would be the wiser!

Interesting that you mentioned the armpit problem. I've contorted, I've pulled skin, I've stretched my arm as far as it would stretch and I still have a little goatee of hair that I just can't seem to shave out of that pit. It's a good thing I always wear sleeves. I don't swim. I'm not afraid of the water, I'm afraid of the swimming suit LOL. It's comforting to hear that others face the same pit problem.

LOL! Thanks. I actually do have "batwings" but they're relativly small. Stretchmarks are my biggest pain as far as my arms go. And can anyone relate to this problem . . . armpits? hello!? my armpits are impossible to shave right! (sorry gentleman)
We're ready to start adding to our family again and will start in July. After a set of Irish twins we'll call it quits (God willing, of course!) and trim and tuck the ugly parts. Can't wait!
I've maintained for 5 months now at 135 and feel soooo great! I don't get a chance to really check the forum now but if my old friends would like to I'd love to get emails (it's easier when the messages come to me vs. having to hunt them down). I don't know if you can get them via this site so here's the address I check the most: [email protected] . . . don't abuse it though or I'll have to hunt you down. ;)
Topic: Question for Gala and anyone else in the know.
Gala, I have a question for you. When you and your DH were newly postop you made the comment that your DH's doctor told him that Tums was an OK source of calcium. This went against everything I've been taught. Your DH said that he was going to do the tums thing because that's what his doctor said.
My question to you is - now that your DH is many months post op, how have his labs come back? Are his calcium levels ok with taking the tums? I'd really like to know because I would love to change from the Citrical Plus to the tums.
Thanks Gala.

Hydi, what fun pictures. Thanks for sharing. You look maarvelous darling! One thing that's impressive is that you seem to have NO batwings! Congratulations and good for you.

Lynda, haven't read the book, haven't even heard of the book. Interesting concept about the spirits of the dead viewing their seperation from their bodies as being in bondage. I would love to hear more about that concept.
I, too, feel like my body is in bondage while here on this earth. I can't wait and am even looking forward to the time when my spirit can run free.

Howdy! Haven't been on much for the last couple months. Busy, busy, busy. But, I just put together a weight loss photo diary. Hope everyone's doing well!

Topic: Running with angels
I just picked up a new book from Deseret Book called, "Running with Angels."
It's about a woman and her struggles with obesity.
She lost her weight through Weigh****chers. I actually gained weight on Weigh****chers but still, this book has a lot of wonderful insights on obesity and stress eating.
The author also writes of her struggles to learn to love her body.
Oddly enough, todays RS lesson was on the resurrection. I read in Doctrine and Covenants where it says the spirits of the dead view their separation from their bodies as being in bondage.
While I feel that being in my body is bondage. Because my body is so fat and sick and full of pain.
Anyway, has anyone read this book? What do you think?

Topic: RE: Issues an LDS person would have to consider
Lynda,
I have had a lot of positive feedback from the members of my ward. It had be nice. I am walking more and doing more that I ever did.
Like most women on this board, I prayed long and hard about being a candidate for this and I don't have any regrets...well one maybe, that is that I didn't do it earlier in my life. But I have lost 100 lbs. so far and I feel just fine.
Just do what you can to boost your own self esteem and the ward will come around. I have scars from a lot of different surgeries and injuries, I have not had that "body as a temple"speech given to me. I don't think that I will anytime soon.
I encourage you to stay positive and come back here often...we are here to help.
Donna
