Barbara how absolutely WONDERFUL! I'm so glad for your family. That is probably the best mother's day gift you could receive. My husband is not a member. It has been my desire for more than 25 years that his heart will soften and he will accept the gospel. He doesn't realize it but he'll become a member of the church whether in this life or after he dies because I WILL have his temple work done for him. I just hope and pray that he will accept the gospel on the other side of the veil. Enjoy the special blessing of having the priesthood in your home. Love your sister Melody

This is just the best news. It is even better than when I got my surgery date. My Husband was baptized on Mother's Day. We have been married for 10 1/2 years so I have waited a long time for this. I found out it was going to happen just as I got home from BYU Women's Conference. While we were there Bro. Holland gave every women who was in the Marriott Center that day an Apostolic blessing that we would recieve the rightous desires of our hearts. Well I think he is my favorite now. Barbara

I could not get this link to go through so I'll have to try and explain what it was. This was a live radio broadcast in Salt Lake City. The reporter was a woman who was giving a live report on the traffic conditions at the time. The reporter is giving a brief weather report along with the traffic conditons. By about 12 seconds into the report it sounds like the reporter is getting really sleepy. She says something like "We're grateful for such a beautiful day and I say these things humbly in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." I wish that you could get the link because it really is funny to listen to. If anyone would like to listen to the real thing, send me your name and I'll send you a copy of the e-mail with the link. This is a real report that went out on live radio in Utah on Mothers Day. The clip is about 15 seconds long. You need to listen to the whole thing before you get to the hilarious part. Only an LDS person would appreciate and understand what is so funny about this. I'm guessing the reporter was taking some cold medicine or something that caused her to have a lapse of concentration of her job. ksfioops[1]...mp3 Hope this works. Melody

My apologies for not checking in more often! I LOVE this site and come here when I need a little extra "comfort chatting"! I had my oldest son, his wife and my 2 baby grand daughters move in with us on New Years Day......I had major gynecological surgery the end of January, started a new job for a plastic surgury center (they focus on post- bariatric body contouring) the end of Feb, and just married my one and only daughter in the Mesa Temple on Sat the 19th of May! Whew! 2007 has been non stop survival for me! I've been throwing 10 pounds back and forth and can't figure out whether I want to do the work required to keep it off. I've got to regroup, renegotiate with my new employer and get myself to the gym for some regular workouts! If anyone is interested in an amazing plastic surgeon; then let me know! I'll make sure that you get the "Joyce discount"! Hugggzzz to all and keep up the good fight against carbs, sugar, fat, calories Joyce in az

Daph, what a testimony that our priesthood leader know us and know what we need. Our Heavenly Father does love us, knows us and knows our needs. He often uses "Angels" on earth to reach out to us. I hope your take your bishops advice and get really active in your ward. HUGS Melody

Topic: Unexpected comfort...exactly what I needed.
Well, I finally miscarried around last thursday...it's sad, but I really needed to be able to start my healing process. I have had a lot of support, and a lot of advice (some more appreciated than others). There were many kind words said, but nothing really "hit the spot". Until tonight. We moved back into our "home" ward about a month ago. The current Bishop is our friend George. I have known George and his wife Mary for 22 years...she was my beehive leader and he was a nice guy in the Bishopric who found me and returned me home everytime I ran away. Brother Anderson could always find me...even when I didn't want to be found. Well, as I was getting ready for a family b-day party tonight (at my house), some mail was brought over from my MIL's..she lives nextdoor and has been our official mailing address for years. In the mail was a church issue envelope, and inside that was a green, construction papaer card (very small, rectangle shaped), Bishop A. had cut it with some "fun" scissors and drawn a purple and red flower on the front (what Bishops take the time to do this?). Inside, there is purple writing in the upper right hand corner..."Happy Mothers Day". The rest of the inside of the card was taken up by this amazing message: No one really understands why so many pregnancies end too soon. Physically it often "cleans" the womb for the next successful effort. Emotionally and spiritually it provides more opportunity (unwanted!) for growth and for further preparation for parenthood. I am very sorry for your loss. And very happy for those you retain. I hope that you will find happiness and purpose here. I pray that you will help us to find joy here. Bishop A. Finally! That was what I needed to "hear". It didn't take away the hurt, it didn't make me suddenly shout for joy , but it brought me true comfort and peace. God bless George.
