Good to see you checking in. You're weightloss is great too!! What a wonderful feeling it must be for you. I know how much better I feel. Keep up the great work. Also, glad to hear that you and your wife are working on your marriage. It isn't easy. I know. BTDT...doing it know. We don't see somone from LDSSS because our insurance, the distance and also I'm not to thrilled w/the SS from this area (we had bad experience w/adopting a child). Regardless - it is great for you. I looked up the info on the book you are reading. I think it is something that I may be ordering for James and I - when we get to that point in our marriage counceling/work that we can openly and honestly discuss this issue. Again, great job and keep checking in with us. Take Care, Gala

Hi Jonathan, I've been thinking about you and wondered how you were doing. Congratulations on your 60# weight loss. That's absolutely fabulous! Coodos to you for being able to work out at a gym everyday. Keep up the good work. Sounds like things are finally looking up for you. Enjoy Hawaii and let us know how your life is progressing. Melody

I don't post very often to this board but I want to say hi. I am down 60 pounds and I am feeling great. I started this process wearing a size 60 pants now I can wear a size 50 pant. I am lucky enough to work for a company that has an onsite gym so I get to work out on my lunch hour. Since I started on this path of weight loss, I have started trying to fix other issues in my life including my marraige which had been very bad. My wife and I will start seeing a counselor with LDS social services and we have started reading an awesome book called "And They Were Not Ashamed" which has started helping us out. We will be going to Hawaii in a week for some time away. -Jonathan

Donna, you're not too old for a tummy tuck when the time comes. This isn't a vanity issue, this is a HEALTH issue. When you lose the extra weight you'll have a tremendous amount of extra skin that just sits on your lower belly, this area doesn't get the air it needs to breathe and it will be a constant problem of infection, bacteria and pain. This is an issue of health. Don't worry about the age issue and the "word - tummy tuck", it's not like we're trying to be bikini models or anything, we just want to be healthy and pain free. Melody

Melody, thank you so much for this reply. Wow - 122 lbs. That is awesome. And still losing. I hear so many reach an early plateau. I am worried about the extra skin. I actually already have quite a lot of 'apron' around my middle, so I can't imagine it being worse. I think I'm too old for a tummy tuck, which I hear lots of people do. Thanks again Melody, donna

Hi Daph, I just read your profile. Amazing amazing loss!! You have done fantastic. Since I am new to the board I didn't know about your upcoming divorce. I know this is a hard time but you certainly seem up in spirit. I too divorced, and have remarried. And even though he is a non member, he is the most wonderful man I know. We have been married almost 23 years. It just doesn't seem that long. Anyway, too much about me. I just want you to know that I'm thinking of you, and if it's meant to be for you and Kyle to be together, then I'm sure HF will find a way for that to happen! donna

Welcome to this board Donna. Come back often and participate. We tend to go through stages where we are really active and chatty for a while and then we get a little lax and nobody says anything for a few days. We can use all the participation we can. My name is Melody. I live in the south central part of Idaho. I had my surgery 1 year ago. To date I've lost 122# and am still losing. This morning I weighed 138# which I believe is right around my surgeons goal for me. I have sooo much extra skin that I still feel fat and still have to wear size 18 jeans. I'm looking forward to being a more normal size someday. My husband is also a non-member and I had my home teachers give me a priesthood blessing prior to surgery. Very comforting. I'd highly recommend it. I was very open about my surgery to people in my ward. Most of them were very curious about it and have been very, very supportive. I have not received any negative from any of them. Good luck. This is a dangerous surgery and very life changing. For me it was worth it and I would do it again. Melody

Daph, this still might be a blessing in disguise. You might not be able to divorce right now but you can still seperate. The seperation without the actual divorce might be what Kyle needs to see what he's giving up and going to miss. On the flip side, it might help you realize that you really are or are not better off without him. I'm sure you're giving it lots of prayer already and are still seeking priesthood guidance. Sending you a big HUG. Melody
