There are classes you can/do go to about different topics. I know some of them have "fashion shows" With people wearing a "pre-op" outfit down the run way and then shedding those clothes into their "post op" fit - or show pics o the person on a large screen pre-op and then have that person come out. Kind of an interactive fashion show. I'm interested in that. LOL>...me I love to see the difference in people. I would love to go on the cruise that OH is doing but can't begin to even afford it. If I idn't have 3 kids to take I could. Anyway, I'm sure I'll tell you all about what I learned and all that jazz. Gala

Topic: What our children THINK we're saying
I teach the 9 year olds in Primary. We're studying Church History this year. A couple weeks ago our lesson was on Joseph Smith and the confusion over which church to join. This lead to Joseph praying and receiving his first vision. Before we got to the part of the lesson where Joseph prayed, I asked the children if we were Christian. Most of the children said "No". We then talked about the name of our church and that we definately were Christian. The next week one of the children's mothers met me in the foyer as I was coming into church. She was laughing. She told me of a conversation she had had with her son the previous week. She asked him what he had learned in church. He proudly told her that he had learned he was a CATHOLIC! His mother asked him who told him that and he proudly told her that his primary teacher told him. This prompted a long talk between mother and son. She was laughing the whole time she was telling me about this little incident. I was Mortified. The word Catholic had never even come up in class. This child got the word Christian and Catholic confused and mixed up. The mother found it funny. I probably would have to if it had happened to someone else. I guess the moral of this story is we never know what these little ones are processing in their minds. I had to share a smile for the day and "the jokes on me" story. Melody (Christian Not Catholic)

Gala - I've never been to a convention before. Please post here when you get back and tell us all about it. I'm interested in what they do at a convention. Does everyone just stand around and talk about how much weight they've lost? I can't fathom what people would do at an obesityhelp convention. I'm glad that you get to go. I hope you have a wonderful time at whatever it is they do. Melody

Topic: RE: Flying to Salt Lake
Saralan I only live 3 1/2 hours away from Salt Lake and I wish I could join you. Unfortunately it won't be possible for me to go - Darn. Sure sounds like fun. It would be nice if someone could meet you. About your question. I'm a little confused about what you're saying. Are you saying that you have always opened your capsule first and then taken the med (yuck, yuck, yuck taste wise - brave girl) and then you actually swallowed the capsule whole this time? I always swallow mine whole. The ones that aren't chewable that is. I think I read on the main board that sometimes we run the risk of the capsule passing through and not dissolving completely if we just swallow it. Makes sense that we run that risk because we have a decreased amount of stomach acid to help dissolve the whole capsule. I guess only our lab results will show if we're absorbing or not. Personally for me. I swallow them whole and take my chances. Have fun at the Family History library. Melody

Topic: RE: Hello to everyone
Hi Alfie - I love coming to these boards and seeing what others are up to. I'm learning that I'm not alone with some of the struggles that I have. I've learned that others are/have faced some of the same types of struggles that I'm going through. I love hearing how some are overcoming their struggles and how they face them. I also love hearing about the many, many, many successes that are also occuring. Here's to the board Melody

Hi back at ya, Alfie- I am new to the board, but I have enjoyed having a place to come where I don't feel out of place religious-wise. I too, have a love for the D&C, they contain such nuggets of wisdom, and really are a guide. I have been feeling pretty guilty because I missed Church the last 2 Sundays-we switched to the 9am schedule and I am having a hard time getting up and rolling early enough-last week my alarm didn't go off at all and I slept until almost 11. Talk about lazy and frustrated! I am not a morning person, but I try. I think we are struggle with life-some more than others at times, and some more obviously than others. Yes, it's good to know there is a book of instructions! thanks for your loving words, lynn
