Topic: Hello to everyone
Hi there Haven't been able to be on line much lately. Work has been a little on the crazy side. I work for American Airlines and lots of lay offs going on and I'm in the HR dept. My heart goes out to all of you that are struggling right now. We all have those days don't we??!! Last night as I was visit teaching one of my sisters we talked about how incredible it is to have the knowledge we have of the Restoration of the Gospel. I love reading the Doctrine and Convennants and learning what the Lord has in store for us. I hope with all my heart that all of us as we struggle will turn to the scriptures for comfort and peace. I know sometimes I have to force myself to do that..get caught up in my problems and forget there really is a manual for this life :0 I love you all...may never get to meet you in person but I love you because you are Choice Daughters of God and you are my brothers and sisters. We all have had to carry the same burden or challenge if you will with our goal to lose weight and to be able to talk to you is something I cherish. Take care and know you are loved even by those who haven't been able to see the twinkle in your eye up close...I would love to though!! Love to all Alfie

Topic: RE: how do you keep your spirits up?
Hi Kim. It's not easy to keep your spirits up. It's all faith. Faith in knowing that our Heavenly Father knows us personnally and knows what we are going through and that he has a plan for us. I'm probably going through one of the toughest times in my life right now so I can totally understand your struggle to keep your spirits up. I received an e-mail just today. It's something I've heard over and over in my life but it was also something I needed reminded of right now. "If God brought you to it, God will get you through it." I'm going through my own version of depression right now. For me it's procrastinating on doing paperwork that I really should keep on top of. How am I dealing with life in general and how am I stopping that depression from spreading and overtaking my entire life? I look around me and I focus on other people. When it stops being "poor Melody" and I concentrate on doing things for others I don't feel quite so bad about myself (of course my paperwork still isn't getting done but it will still be here tommorrow, just more of it). When I was in school and someone did poorly on a test they often had to repeat that test. Heavenly Father gives me as tests and as much as I hate the tests He gives me, I want to do the very best I can so that I won't have to repeat that test again. We don't have to like the test or the situation but someday we'll be through it and we'll look back and realize that we wouldn't be where we are if we hadn't gone through that challenge. So I guess I'm saying FAITH. Just have Faith. Melody

when do you do all the things you are supposed to do, how do you manage to keep your spirits up? I never curse God and ask why me? but i do get discouraged. I feel like giving up. I don't but I, too, get tired of the Lord having so much faith in me. ~kim

Thank you for your kind words Kaye. Unfortunately I have no information about anything in the Southern California area. The best advice I can give you is to see if Liv Lite has anything on the internet. It's a place to start at least. Melody

Hello, I have missed everyone here! Soon I will try and catch up on what has been going on. We reallly need to get this board more active. Melody can't carry it on her own! lol She sure is loyal isn't she? However, right now I have need of some information if anyone here can help. My ddau lives North of San Diego, Ca. She is looking into having wls and is going to Los Angeles to Liv Lite tomorrow for a consultation. Has anyone used them or even heard of them? Does anyone know of a good place with a great reputation nearer to San Diego? Any info would be appreciated. Especially if it would help her avoid wasting gas if the Liv Lite group is not where she should try. TIA Grins, Kaye

Hey sister- I am so sorry to hear of your troubles-and I totally understand how you paste on a face for everyone and are just dying inside. HF knows that, too-don't be afraid to lean on Him a little (or a lot). Most of all, if you are really not seeing the sun shine in your life at all, call up the doctor-depression is not a good thing, and if you need help you should get it before your life falls to pieces. (yeah, talking from experience here.) This may just be a bend in the road, but taking it is scary and painful. We have all been there in one way or another-so make sure to lean on US, too! take care sweetie.... lynn

Melody, Thanks for the analogy!! It is really very true, in how it fits into our lives. At least mine anyway. I'm sorry this garbage is having to happen to you and your family right now. How devastating for your family. And self-esteem. As you said you have dedicated your lives to your business. In return you are thrown out w/the rest of the goverments garbage (i'm not real goverment positive these days). Regardless, hang in there. Thanks for being such a wonderful support to each of us...especially me. Love, Gala

Topic: RE: Good Morning
Hello, Gala, I think of you often and you are in my prayers. I do hope things are going better than they started out. Hearing that you have been inspired to return to the temple made my day. Our new temple will be dedicated this spring and it is 11 miles away. I have never lived near one and am excited. Being a genealogy nut, I will be putting it to good use. Good luck in this marathon. Dearest Melody! I am so sorry that you are going through this terrible time! I can't believe they have done this to you! But then isn't it always the good people that get stomped and the kicked when they are down? If there is anything I can do to soften the blow or lessen your hardships let me know. If nothing else, feel free to vent to me at any time. If you would like to talk, I will send you my phone number or you can send yours (privately, of course) and I can call you. (Just recently got unlimited long distance and love it) You are always there for everyone of us and I hope we can reciprocate. Please let this list be there for you as you have been here for us. Got to go get my gdau from school so will write more later. There is so much I want to say to you. Keep up the faith as our Heavenly Father is here for you even more that we are. But then you know that as you are always telling the rest of us when we are down! Praying for you!!! Grins, Kaye
