Topic: RE: Confusion about one of the articles of Faith
Thank you Alfie. That makes perfect sense. It makes everything click together now. I had faith and I believed that the articles of faith were true and I didn't doubt them, I just couldn't figure this one out in my mind.
Thank you for your wisdom and being willing to share with me and everyone else who had ever questioned the same thing.
You're a jewel.
Love you

HI Melody
Well Sweetie here's my two cents worth...we are reaping the results of Adams transgression and having to suffer the consequences of his actions but when we are judged his transgression will not be among ours.
Its like having a Father that is an alcholic and having to pay along with him for his transgression (the stress and abuse from him) but we will not be held accountable for his actions in our judgment.
I have a couple of things like this that make me crazy too...like no beginning no end..my wee brain can't handle that.
Hope I've helped and not made it worse..
love ya
Alfie

I don't have a solid answer for you either. I'm going to pass the question onto someone who's great with answers like these.
Topic: RE: My day couldn't have been any better!!!!
What a wonderful day. I'm sure you're still on cloud 9 and flying high. Things like that never happen to me so it's fun to hear it actually happened to someone I have visited with.
It sounds like with all the bad luck you've had these past months, your luck is changing.
Have fun on your trip and be sure to post when you return and tell us all about it.

Can't help you any...I'm very scripture illiterate!!!! Trust me on that one. I will have my husband read your post and see what his thoughts on it are.

Topic: My day couldn't have been any better!!!!
Today James and I had a "day to ourselves". We took the kids to my moms early this morning and then off to Madison we went. We are doing some improvements to our house so we went to Menards - looked at bunch of stuff and walked out w/tile and a toilet for our bathroom. Real exciting, right?
Then we went to Catherine's - a plus size store for women. I haven't bought anything there since my surgery but thought I would go look at a dress that I wanted to buy for my mom and then see what else they had. There were some good sales == problem was. I can't wear "dresses" right now. I can only wear tops/skirts. Because I am so "misproportioned" (not complaining) I tried on a few sweaters they had on clearance. After trying a few of the xl size James says "guess we need to go somewhere else because these are too big". There is a Shopko right next to this store. We walked over there - and boy did the rest of my day change at that moment!!! I'm still smiling from ear to ear!!
We go in the store and it is newly remodeled. There are 3-4 managers at the front of the store and they hand James and I a scratch card. Had us go to the table they had and "scratch off" our cards. James does his "10% off purchase today". He was really happy and I at that moment was in shell shock, disbelief or something....the "1/2" of my card that I had scratched said 'spa vacation for 2'. I said to the lady mine says "spa vacation for 2" She says "WHAT....you're the grand prize winner". Stunned I said "for what, for wear".....She then gets on her 2 way radio and calls someone else "We have the California La Costa Spa Resort Winner" Pretty soon there were about 4-5 more people saying congrats. I'm still -- stunned as ever. Very sheapishly I said "is there a catch". They started laughing and said "yeah that is what the winner of the 42 in plasma tv said too"... They had me fill out paperwork, presented me w/certificate saying I had one the "Grand Prize California La Costa Spa Vacation for 2" VALUED at $4000!!!!!!!!!! and took our picture. One of my friends from my last job walks during this "Gala, what did you win. what is all this hoopla." They didn't have the details to the vacation. Did say they were very certain it is a 1 week vacation. I have looked up this resort on line. WOW it is soo cool. Best of all -- it is near my very dear friend Misty's house. She lives 4 hrs away in Las Vegas. OH OH OH I am singing praises today. And I also had a "good" hair day. W/it getting thinner I have had a hard time w/curling and stuff....
Oh...and it gets better...I was able to buy an 18-20 sweater at Shopko. I also got an 18/20 "stretch" type of shirt. Oh my day has been great!! Four months ago today was my surgery. And I wasn't able to shop at Shopko.....
Anyway, I just thought I would share my great news w/you all!!
Love, Gala
ps...anyone interested in babysitting my 2 kiddos for a week??? lol
Topic: Confusion about one of the articles of Faith
Ok everyone, help me out here. I do a lot of things by faith. Faith that what I'm told is true. Something has occured to me recently and I'm kind of dwelling on it. It has to do with the second article of Faith.
"We believe that man will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression."
The more I think about it, the more I think Yes! we are being punished for Adam's transgression. When Adam ate the forbidden fruit of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil (see Genesis 2:9 and Genesis 3:6) he was told that (Genesis 3:17-19) 17. ". . . cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18. Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat . . ."
For Eve the Lord told her (Genesis 3:16) "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; . . ."
In my line of thinking, we ARE being punished for both Adam's and Eve's transgression. Any woman who's had a baby knows that we are being punished for Eve's transgression. Man has to work very hard to bring food out of the earth and work the land. So how are we NOT being punished for Adam's transgression?
Help me out here. This is really bothering me.

They have quite a few different "chicken" things. I basically ordered a chicken taco supreme w/o the shell and no lettuce. So basically it was chicken, sour cream and tomatos..
I can eat the chicken quesadillas (sp??) and they go down ok. But I have to have LOTS of sour cream or salsa. And my tummy doesn't do spicy stuff so I just get sour cream. An order of that I am able to eat 1 sometimes 1 and `1/2 of the cut portions.
Anyway -- remember that. Taco Bell does have some options for us. Actually most restraunts do. Just have to ask. I go out for breakfast w/the other bus drivers every morning. Most mornings I just take my protein bar or protein drink and I am fine. But the days I do order they do it "special" order just for me. I love it. It is a place called Culver's. They are known for their butter burgers and custard ice cream. The breakfasts are basically "scrambled or poached egg, and some sort of bread and a meat. They have a combination of "scramble" platters. Heck I can't even a hole scrambled egg let alone the other stuff. So they will make me 1 egg scrambled w/cheese. I get charged $1.04 which I think isn't to bad. So about once a week I have that. The lady today told me "your collar bones are really showing...think its time for a smaller shirt". LOL == she is so sweet and so supportive. She can't be more than 100 lbs soak and wet WITH clothes on... One of the other drivers who is much older than I am -- his kids are my age. He is a big flirt and told the other gal that drives "Joan, you better watch out cause you're going to be gone this next week and Gala is looking pretty good these days. I"ll be picking on someone else other than you". I just smiled and said "remember my dear I'm married." He was just joking and all in good fun. And today...he was being the flirt that he is every other day and then says "oh uh, i better stop I might get caught and get in trouble". (meaning if my husband came in). I told him as long as he keeps it clean I dont' care. Because I'm married, he's married, and he is older than my dad so there you have it. But you know....for the first time in my adult life it was nice to hear that.
Sheesh....that was way off topic.
Anyway...Have a good night.

This story just goes to prove to all of us that we are being watched over. What seems like an inconvenience or an annoyance or just plain bad luck really is a blessing in disguise.
Sorry your chicken was yucky. Chicken is one of the things that I can eat so chicken is a major meal source for me. I didn't even know that Taco Bell had grilled chicken. I'll have to store that piece of information in my memory bank.
Thanks for sharing your story and congrats on the new van.

Isn't it nice to know that someone is watching over us? It is comforting to know that some one 'has our back'.
