Ditto to what Hydi said. That was a great response. I guess I am blessed so far to not have problems with my children. I know the day is coming though, no one goes without trial. I am learning to lean on the Lord now and hopefully that will get me through some of the trials like it has you. Have a great day everyone!

Thanks to eveyone that replied and I am storing your suggestions and encouragement in my mental bank!! I'm going to see if I can find those nuts that you were talking about Melody. I'm also going to stock up on almonds that was mentioned too. I brought some extra cheese today to work and some sunflower seeds. I need to go grocery shopping too. I was just having a rough time for whatever reason yesterday... You are all wonderful and I sure do love and appreciate you. You are my safety net!! Have a good day Alfie

Wow, you've got some choice trials! I'm amazed at how many of you have such difficult family lives. My brother has ADHD and I know how difficult it is for my mom. I feel for you. What is it that the scriptures say? "and all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good . . . " I'm amazed by your strength and the blessings you'll recieve from your trials.

I found something that is WONDERFUL. I was in Walmart and browsing the produce section when I saw a display of packaged bulk items. These were mexican specialty items. One package looked like some kind of nut. I read the nutrition facts and it boasted 9 gms of protein for 1/4 cup. Now I don't speak Spanish but I took a chance and bought these different looking nuts. I had no idea what I was buying. The package says "Pepitas Saladitas - Roasted & Salted Pepitas". I bought a package and opened them when I got to the car (shouldn't go shopping when you're hungry). They are terrific. They taste like pumpkin seeds. They are fabulous. 9 gms of protein in 1/4 cup and only 150 calories. I think this is my new munchie food. The salt can be a drawback but oh well - I'll put up with it. At our Walmart I paid $1.94 for a 6 oz pkg. Thought I'd share. Melody

Oh, what a great post! I have been wanting to get to know you all better! I was BIC. #6 of 14 kids. I rebelled for a bit and married a man that I fell in love with in AZ. We moved back here with his daughter in tow and had three boys. 17, 14, and 11. Talk about a handful! The daughter, who is now 24 is reactive attachment, bipolar. the seventeen year old is bipolar and the 11 year old is extremely ADHD and oppositional defiant. I owe my sanity to the church who helped me place my uncontrollable 17 yr old at the Utah Boys Ranch and they are helping with issues of the 11 yr old too...VERY LONG BORING STORY! My dd took the discussion when she was 10 and joined the church. my older two now hold the priesthood. My dh joined the church in 93 and FINALLY we were sealed in the Jordan River Temple this last April. I am continually amazed at the grace, mercy and love of our heavenly Father. I have one granddaughter who passed away in 2002 but it was her spirit that helped guide me to the temple without my hubby. I was endowed 2 years before he was and yes, it was "a great and dreadful day!" I have held many callings unfortunately here in my home area it is becoming increasingly ness. to hold more than one. Our sis from alaska mentioned splitting the ward...we just had to go from 7 wards in the stake to 5 to absorb the inactive and nonmembers in the area. I have an ever growing testimony of the truthfullness of the gospel. I am taken aback by people who do not believe we are christian. A dear friend of many many years was just born again and told me that we do not believe in christ. I just sat there with a stupied look on my face and said...If we do not believe in christ, then how come the name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? He then tried to tell me that we worship Joseph Smith as a modern day Christ.....I just don't get it. I would love to get to know each of you better through the boards. I feel such a brotherhood and sisterhood when I am here. Trudi Longest post I have EVER written!

Heck yeah! I'm only about a month ahead of you and it's been a big challenge lately. I've plateaued for about 3 weeks now because of it. Cheez-It's are my down fall, too! I swore them off and then I bought some for the kids and ended up eating them whenever they'd leave them unattended. I'm freaking myself out. Control Hydi . . . control!

I usually cure the munchies with nuts, almonds are best. they are good for you and not a lot of calories. Besides, how many nuts can someone eat? I also am tired of water (i refuse to drink it) Try koolaid, gatoraid, walmart flavored water, etc to keep the munchie monster at bay. Gordon
