Heavenly Father is in control. Keep on praying. Things will turn out the way HE wants them to.
Hopefully another dilation is all that will be needed.

Topic: RE: Friday's Question of the Day
1. If you could go back or forth in time and give yourself some advice, what point in your life would it be and what would you say?
I would go back to my school days. I had very low self esteem. I was afraid of trying things. I was quite sharp and got really good grades but I didn't challenge myself by taking advanced classes. My advice to myself would be to "give it a try".
2. If you could take one thing from today and travel back in time (I'm on a time travel kick today), when would it be and what would you take?
I would take antibiotics and take them back to the 1800's when the pioneers were battling maleria from all the mosquito bites and pneumonia, etc.
3. What has been your worst moment as an obese person?
Best as a post-op patient? If you're not post-op what is the moment you're looking forward to?
My worst moment was when I had to sit in a chair in a prosecuting attorney's office (I was to be a witness at a trial) and in front of the police officers and others I got stuck in the chair.
My best moment was when I had to sit in a wheelchair recently and be wheeled down the hospital hall and not only did I fit but there was room on each side.
4. What one event has strengthened your testimony more than any other?
Probably receiving my own temple ordinances.

Hey,
I wore mine to and from the hospital, and every day since. My garments are as much a part of me as my skin so I always wear them everywhere. If someone sees them dosen't matter to me and has actually been a missionary tool. To "why do you wear those?" or similar questions are answered simply "they are to remind me of the promises/covenants I made to God."
Best wishes on your surgery and health and happiness to your family from Gordon
Topic: Friday's Question of the Day
Do you all sleep in? That's O.K. It's been fun to think of some questions.
1. If you could go back or forth in time and give yourself some advice, what point in your life would it be and what would you say?
2. If you could take on thing from today and travel back in time (I'm on a time travel kick today), when would it be and what would you take?
3. What has been your worst moment as an obese person?
Best as a post-op patient? If you're not post-op what is the moment you're looking forward to?
4. What one event has strengthened your testimony more than any other?
My answers:
1. I would go back to high school (but do it as my pre-op self) and tell myself to contol my eating and exersize more.
2. I would take an air conditioner to Moses as he wandered the desert. Of course that wouldn't be very effective because there's no electricity but that's not really the point.
3. I can't think of just one moment. Every time I went shopping for new clothes, because I had grown out of my old ones, was awful. Of course that's also my best moment as a post-op. I put off buying clothes for so long because I was terrified of finding out what size I was. I finally couldn't keep my pants on anymore (they were literally falling off) so I went to Old Navy (where I'd never been able to shop before) and bought a bunch of t-shirts and a pair of jeans. Come to find out I had gone from a size 28 to a 16. If my boobies weren't so big I'd be in an x-large shirt.
4. I finally made myself start reading the scriptures myself (my husband and I read them at night) and I finally started to feel the burning in my heart on a daily basis. My testimony of the Savior and the prophets has been strengthened sooo much. And the principles of the gospel. I can say without a shred of doubt that the scriptures are true.

Kaye,
God is amazing how he works - right as you said AMEN to get an answer that fast. The fact that you have been able to eat today is a great sign! I will continue to pray for you.

Topic: Another update
Well, I went in to get a feeding tube. Didn't happen! I was all hooked up with IV etc and on the CT table. I really didn't feel good about it and was praying. I told Heavenly Father that I really didn't want to go through it but if it was what is best for my body then I would do it. As I said amen the Dr, that was going to do the procedure, came in and told me we were done. He said that there is not enough, of my stomach, left to put one in. He said that he would have to go through my heart and didn't think that was a good idea. Funny guy! Anyway, the only way to get a feeding tube is to surgically insert it. Another surgery is what we are trying to avoid!
So I go, in the morning, for another scope and dilation. Don't know what will happen next. I have been able to eat today, though.
Thanks for your prayers and support and please continue to pray.
Grins,
Kaye

Trudi,
First of all, congratulations on your date.
As far as garments go, I didn't wear my G's to the hospital. I have always been told to wear regular underwear to the DR etc, as others would be in a position to see them. They are sacred.
When I returned home, I did wear them. However, I was given a binder to wear and if I wore my top under it, the material made creases in my skin and if I wore it over, the binder, the top would get twisted and caught in the binder. But for the most part, they were very comfortable, especially after I stopped wearing the binder. (But I have a very short waistline and that is why my binder kept rolling up. You will have to find what works for you. But I would definately not wear them to or at the hospital.
I finally ordered new ones as mine keep falling off. This is a good thing! lol
Good luck and remember to get a blessing.

Kaye

Hi, glad you found us!
My prayers are definately including you!
It is great that you will be going to church. I use to tell my children that God gave us 168 hours in a week and he only asks us to give him 3 back. I was inactive for many many years and am so grateful for the peace I have now that I am back. I have been active now for 20 years and it has made a big difference in my family's lives not just mine.

Topic: RE: Thursday's Question of the Day
Thanks Heidi, for doing these today.
1. What is one thing you enjoyed about being overweight? (I know, this one may take a while to answer).
Eating. Oh, yes, maybe the fact that babies loved to cuddle me and I think it is because I am squishy! lol
2. The weather is perfect outside, you have a day off, it's your favorite season, and you have sufficient funds in the bank. What are you going to do today?
There are so many things! But the first thing that came to mind is a crisp sunny winter day in the mountains of New Hampshire on a snowmobile!
3. When was the last time you followed the spirit and blessed someone else's life?
Not the last thing, but recent. My downstairs neighbor, (that I didn't know really well) asked me to babysit her tiny baby, while she went to work. I did and she asked me a couple more times. She lives alone with the baby and has a son (8) who lives with his Dad. I really didn't want to as I am a night owl and she started work at 5 and 6 am. The last time, she stayed awhile and we talked. She thanked me profusely and told me that she hated bothering me but she was going to lose her job if she missed anymore work. That would have been devastating as she had been working hard to get a car and into a position that she could go to college and make a better life for her family. If I had not listened to the spirit, she would have lost her job. I am grateful for inspiration.
4. What are your favorite and least favorite chores around the house?
I love to cook and make things. I despise straightening up and decluttering. I am unorganized!
Grins,
Kaye
