Wow, Melody! That's an amazing story. It gave me goosebumps and made my heart skip a beat. It's so wonderful that you were in tuned to the spirit at that time. It reminds me of a quote I read the other day. "If we live worthy of divine guidance, as we are privileged to do, we shall not go very far astray. --Joseph F. Merrill" I'm sure that was an moment that has held you close to the gospel many times.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you for reminding me it is fast sunday. My whole family is fasting for me this sunday. Most of my family live in Southern Alberta Canada We lived right across the street from the Temple. Cardston. I also have family in Utah and Idaho.
I appreciate your words of kindness. i am so moved by heavenly fathers unconditional love and how so many of you seem to have the same.
Thank you for the loving welcome and i will be back i can promise you this. I will keep you informed of both surgical and spiritual news.

How wonderful that you were sealed. I have no Idea what that would be like. i guess that I always took things like the temple for granted. Im sure that your lives have changed drasticly.
I am okay with having been excommunicated. for me I will be able to start fresh and be at least for a few seconds clean and free of sin. That is a very overwhelming thought.
Miracles are always being performed for my kids and my family. The most recent BIG one that comes to mind is my oldest was with my bro. in-law and they were riding a four wheeler. My bro. inlaw lost control of the quad and they ran into five strands of barbed wire. It slit his throat and sliced and diced him from head to toe. It nicked his jugular. it took the Ambulance and Helicopter 45 min. to get to him. HE LIVED. Miracles truely work.
Thank you for the prayers.

My husband isnt a member. He did however sit in the lessons the whole time my kids took the lessons. i purposely had the Spanish speaking elders at the house for him. He loved having the missionaries there. They talked Soccer.
I am just waiting for my Cardiolite and anything else that may follow. i know that I will be having the surgery. My cardiologist feels that I need this surgery as I am high risk for heart attack.

Thank you for the welcome. I know that this is all happening for a reason. I also know that I have been blessed and am being given miracle after miracle. I am so calm my heart is calm I know that I will have the surgery soon enough and that It will be the right time.
My kids are so excited about going to church. My oldest should be a deacon. I have and eight year old who so wants to be baptized. I promised him I would go so that he could get baptized.
Thank you again

Wow. All I can say is Wow.
With your family history a failed EKG is frightening. Reads like your'e living on borrowed time. I think the person who gave you the advice about approval for WLS is right on.
You THINK you don't have any co-morbidities but with your family history you're about as high risk as they come and the failed EKG is a big red flag flying.
It might be hard but try your best to do things the way your doctors suggest so you can get your surgery.
This Sunday is fast Sunday. It would be appropriate for you to fast for yourself to be able to do what was necessary to have this surgery if it be Heavenly Father's will.
Heavenly Father loves you, He wants you to do whatever's necessary to become the best person you can be. Turn to Him Erin. He's never left you. He's waiting with open arms to welcome you back into His fold.
Keep coming back Erin. We're a small group so none of us are so annonymous here (unless you're a lurker). It's easy for us to keep track of and look out for each other.

1. What is one thing you enjoyed about being overweight?
Eating. I'm addicted to food. I lived to eat. I would finish one meal and think about how I could use the leftovers. Eating anything I wanted and as much as I wanted is the one thing I miss.
2. The weather is perfect outside, you have a day off, it's your favorite season, and you have sufficient funds in the bank. What are you going to do today?
I would take my children to Disneyland. I've been several times but my children never have. I would take all 5 of them and make a family outing just enjoying them and enjoying the fun time we woud have. We live so far away that if money were no object we would all fly (another first for my children), rent a car and take enjoy.
3. When was the last time you followed the spirit and blessed someone else's life?
This isn't the last time but it is a memorable time for me. My work history is being an ambulance technician. I worked full time ambulance for 23 years. One Easter I was on ambulance duty when the ambulance pager went off for us to respond to an injury accident. I was on duty but the Spirit told me "don't go". As that exact second another member, who was off duty, contacted me and told me that she would respond to the accident.
About 10 minutes later the Spirit very loudly and definately told me "get ready to go, you're needed now" and The Spirit then told me the name of the person in the accident that I would be taking care of. I was also told that someone had died and the name of the person who had died. I got ready to go and the ambulance responding to the accident realized that because of the CPR being done on the person, another ambulance would be needed to transport the mother.
I responded to the ambulance call and took care of the mother. I was the one who told the mother that her child had died.
This was special because the woman was the bishop's wife. That Easter Sunday the family was on their way to Stake Conference when the accident occured. Due to my level of training, if I had been the one *****sponded on the first ambulance I would have been involved in the CPR. I was needed to be with the Bishop's wife (who at that time was a dear personal friend of mine). This dear woman has always told me how special it was and how much easier it was for her for me to be the one to tell her her son had died.
When the ambulance was first dispatched, it was not known that someone had died. It was also unknown to the ambulance crew the identity of the family. I knew. I KNEW. The Spirit told me the identity of the family and the fact that the child had died.
This was a very spiritual moment for all of us.
4. What are your favorite and least favorite chores around the house?
Favorite would be cooking. Least favorite would be cleaning.

Congratulations on your surgery date Trudi. The 20th will be here before you know it.
I wore my garments to the hospital and then took them off when I got to the hospital in pre-op and changed into my hospital gown. I did not wear then during the hospital stay (too may tubes, people probing, looking and changing bandaging) but I put them back on when I was discharged and dressing for home.
My garments have always been a comfort for me (physically and spirtually) and yes they were comfortable afterward. I wear the two piece and I think they are a lot more comfortable after surgery than having to wear "normal" other people underwear.
Let us know how you are doing. We're here to answer questions and give you advice if wanted.
Melody
