Topic: RE: LDS OSSG WLS GROUP
Gala I've never heard of this group before. Where would one go to look for this group site? While we're on the subject of Melody being lost and behind the times, I've heard members on this site mention the "Over 50 forum". I've looked for it and I can't find it. Where is it at? What's it under? I feel like I live in my own little world. I don't get out much and obviously I don't live a very exciting life. Melody

Thanks Billie for your sweet and kind encouragement. I have had a blessing or two. Not recently but in the past. The meds that I am on now have done really good up until the last few weeks. Only this time it is a "different" type of depression and things that are happening vs before. I have an appt this coming Thursday w/the dr. that rx those meds. I am having some problems with eating right now. I got an email from the Assistant that works w/my surgeon and she would like for me to come in for her first opening which isn't till the 8th. She said if I think I should be seen sooner than to call her Monday and have her paged. Which I might just do. Corry is another hole issue -- I am trying REALLY hard to keep that out of my mind right now. We have had him 6 yrs this coming Tuesday and that day is always hard. Anyways, thanks a bundle. Love, Gala

Hi Gala, I'm Billie and I'm pretty new here, but I wanted to comment on your post if that is ok. I read your profile and I am amazed at how you handle the things that trouble your life. Just keeping up with Corry in the situation he is in is an amazing thing. That one event alone is enough to cause stress, depression, etc. Let alone the fact that you have two other kids and a job and on and on!!! You are really an amazing person! With that said, don't loose hope. You only have good things ahead because you have taken steps to improve your health! I am jealous that your surgery is over and you are started down that road! As I read about your depression (which I am very familiar with!!!) I wondered if you have had a blessing? I don't know if this is something you have thought of or if you have someone around that can do that for you, but I know that it is the first thing I thought when I read about your problems with the medications. Medication is really a miracle for those of us who need it and I'm sure there is a reason you have had trouble finding the right thing for you. I just wanted to put that out there to see if it is something you have tried. I hope things will look up for you and I know they will because you are becoming more healthy in body and that will promote stronger mental health. My DH keeps telling me it won't (he doesn't want me to have the surgery), but I am convinced it will! Keep up the good work! Billie

I didn'****ch the entire diving sequence so I don't know how he did. The article also talked about Rachel Kunkle who was diving. I saw one of her dives. She did real well but I don't think she made it to the medal rounds. I wish there were an easier way for me to track the olympians. There's just so much going on that I miss most of it. Melody

1. What was the last thing someone did for you that really touched your heart? My health was not very good but I still taught a preschool for 8 children the entire school year last year. As a surprise all the mom's went together and got me some thank you pre-school gifts that had gone with our pre-school name (Our school was called "Little Lamb Pre-school"). I was very surprised and very touched to know how the moms appreciated all I had accomplished. 2. If your home burned to the ground, and your loved ones and pets all got out safe....what ONE object would you most want to save from fire. You only get one item. My dh and I own an ambulance service and I do all the ambulance paper work. I would have to grab the records. Without the records there would be no money coming in from patient transports. 3. If you have had your surgery, have you picked an item of 'fat' clothing to keep and always recall your size...what is it? If you are pre-op, do you have one in mind? I saved one pair of size 26 jeans. 4. What gospel principle brings you the most joy? The knowledge that Heavenly Father knows me personally and has a plan for me. Melody

Wow, what great news. How long will you have to have your feeding tube? What do you put through it? I know that some patients with feeding tubes have to use a special nutrient but that's for people who don't eat anything with their mouths. Will you also be able to chew food and eat? Keep us posted. Its saturday morning and its raining cats and dogs here in my corner of Texas so this is wonderful to have some more questions to read and respond to. So lets see here...... 1. What was the last thing someone did for you that really touched your heart? I think when my boss recently told someone ..no I'll have Alfreda take care of it becasue I know it will be done and it will be right...my chin hit the floor. I guess we all need that pat on the back from time to time. 2. If your home burned to the ground, and your loved ones and pets all got out safe....what ONE object would you most want to save from fire. You only get one item. Thats a very tough one. I have a gold chain that my Mother bought for me for Christmas several years ago. My Father had passed away the year before and money was just not there. She had asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I said a gold necklace...I was in my teens and didn't realize how tight the money was at the time. But she got me that necklace and then years later of course I found out how difficult that had been. She is my perfect example of sacrifice ' for others. 3. If you have had your surgery, have you picked an item of 'fat' clothing to keep and always recall your size...what is it? If you are pre-op, do you have one in mind? I have a pair of jeans size 28 that were getting way toooo tight and also a top zixe 2x that was also stretched to probable a 4x. 4. What gospel principle brings you the most joy? I love knowing that I'm sealed to my sweetheart forever but I also am so very thankful for the principle of Repentance. Thanks TRACEY Alfie

1. What was the last thing someone did for you that really touched your heart? A: My brother-in-law got his endowments out on the 11th and I wasn't going to be able to go. My sister-in-law left work early (not getting paid) and watched our kids. And a friend watched our kids for about a half an hour so we could get to the session on time. It was a pain for everyone but they were all so determained to get me there. It was wonderful of them to do. 2. If your home burned to the ground, and your loved ones and pets all got out safe....what ONE object would you most want to save from fire. You only get one item. A: My hard drive. Should I have said my Book of Mormon? I can look at it online when I get a new computer. ;) 3. If you have had your surgery, have you picked an item of 'fat' clothing to keep and always recall your size...what is it? If you are pre-op, do you have one in mind? A: Hum, I should have kept one. I was just so anxious to make room for the new clothes. Maybe I still have something hanging around. 4. What gospel principle brings you the most joy? A: Repentance/ The Atonement. It's amazing to me.
