1. What is your biggest struggle pertaining to WLS? I am a nervous eater - I know that carbs and sugars make me depressed but I get into that JUST ONE thinking that got me big in the first place, then I get really mad at myself for not "knowing better" 2. Do you dust or vacuum first and why? do I what? Thats what I gave birth to 3 children for. 3. What are 5 positive things that people would say about you? I am resourceful, I am ambitious, I am disciplined (yeah they just dont know me when they say that), I am a good mother, and I am intelligent 4. Of the above 5 things, what is your favorite or the thing that would mean most to you. I am a good mother. 5. What is the thing you would most want people to say about you? hmmmm if they meant it, hey, did you know that is the richest woman in Texas? LOL J/K I would like to be a respected speaker and have people say OH you have to go see Sherrie Aderman speak - she is a wonderful motivator!

I will try to come up with some questions. 1. What is your biggest struggle pertaining to WLS? 2. Do you dust or vacuum first and why? 3. What are 5 positive things that people would say about you? 4. Of the above 5 things, what is your favorite or the thing that would mean most to you. 5. What is the thing you would most want people to say about you? I will answer them later. Sorry they weren't more creative. Grins, Kaye

Topic: Questions
Anyone feeling ambitious enough to do questions every day, or two, or week feel free. I will as I can think of some and up to it. I feel bad that I started this and then dropped the ball. I struggle with being creative sometimes -- it is one of those times now. Give me some time and I will be back at it again. I am struggling right now with something that happened w/my 10yr old who is in a residential treatment center. So to say I am a little pre-occupied is an understatement. Love, Gala

Utah Diver Looks Towards Gold Aug. 22, 2004 Shelley Osterloh reporting Swimming at the Olympic Games has wrapped up with eight world records set in just seven days. Now divers take center stage. Utah's has two Olympic Divers in Athens: Rachelle Kunkle and Justin Wil**** We'll tell you about Salt Lake City's Rachelle Kunkle a little latter in the week. But right now, meet Justin Wil**** the 25 year old man from Smithfield Utah who says he's dreamed of going to Olympics since he was a little kid. Justin Wil**** has yet to win a major international diving competition. He thinks the Olympics might be the first. Justin Wil**** Olympic Diver: "My goal for Athens is to win a gold medal"" Wil**** says he always knew, somehow, he'd make it to the Olympics. He started gymnastics when he was seven just so he could someday compete in the Games. Justin Wil**** Olympic Diver: "...I've got a picture of a birthday cake from when I was 12 that said future Olympian, and in I think 6th grade, I did a report on the history of the Olympics.....you know, ever since I can remember." When he was 12, he switched to diving because he thought it improved his chances of becoming an Olympian. By Jr. High, his parents --- Scott and Cathy Wil**** --- would make the two hour drive from Cache County to Salt Lake City for training. Later, the family vacations were planned around Justin's competitions. Scott Wil**** Justin's Father: "For us, it's all about family, and our kids... When they're successful, we're successful" He's been rewarded with plenty of hardware. The BYU graduate has awards for academics as well as diving. He has had his sights on Athens since 1997 when he cut out a newspaper article about the Athens Games, and carried it with him. Then the college diving star chose to serve a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During the Sydney Games, Justin was preaching the gospel in Italy. But when he returned, he jumped back on the board, and has steadily moved up the ranks. He says his faith gives him confidence that if he prepares, he can leave the rest to God. Justin Wil**** Olympic Diver: "What a great blessing it is to know that once I am there, all I need to do is turn it over to God, and let him take over from there, and whatever happens, happens." Justin and his family have great support from their home community of Smithfield. His dad, Scott, works at Pepperidge Farm, and the company has generously agreed to pay for the Wil****'s trip to Athens. Justin visited the plant to thank his supporters, and says his accomplishments will be shared with many. Justin Wil**** Olympic Diver: "I just want to stress and say again how grateful I am for everyone that's been here supporting me." Wil**** has battled some chronic back pain, and was diagnosed with minor stress fracture I his back, but he says it won't stop him from competing. Let's hope it doesn't limit him in any ways. He competes Monday in the preliminary competition of the 3-meter springboard.

Too funny, you made me laugh. Thanks for sharing. It's fun finding "new" clothes in the closet. Be careful not to make the mistake of waiting tooo long to try the clothes on. It's like when we had our babies, I would wait too long to try on an outfit just to find that the baby had outgrown it, now just the opposite is happening. Waiting too long to try on an outfit just to find I've shrank out of it. I used to blame the humidity in my closet for shrinking all my clothes. Now the humidity has certainly changed because all my clothes are "stretching". Oh to deal with this kind of problem. Bring it on anyday. Thanks for the smile. Melody

Topic: RE: More surgery?
Kaye, we had our surgeries within a week from each other. It's hard for me to imagine the problems you're going through. I feel very fortunate that I haven't had any strictures yet. I am soo sorry that you have gone through 7 of them. Alfie gave you some great wonderful advice. It sounds like your husband needs a priesthood prayer as much as you do. I really hope you take her advice and seek one for each of you. Since you're already basically fasting, add some prayer to it over the matter. Heavenly Father will lead you to the best decision on what to do. Like Alfie said, Heavenly Father knows you and has a plan for you, we just have to have faith that what will be, will be and accept it. If it is in his plan to take you, know that you will be going to a wonderful place. Free of pain, sorrow and problems. It's our earthly emotions that make us afraid. I know it's hard to leave our loved ones behind but Heavenly Father will take care of them. He also knows and loves them. When you are through this challenge, think about how much stronger you will be. I've always said that I HATE the tests and challenges but they are neccessary for us to grow. Think of all the wonderful insight and advice you will have to give others who are going through similar situations. Hang in there Kaye. I'll add you and your family to my prayers. Love, Melody

Dearest Sister Kaye..my heart truly goes out to you. Please know that Heavenly Father knows you and knows you are scared. He will be there for you. Please if you haven't already get a Priesthood blessing and really really listen to what is said. You'll find peace of heart. It is so hard for us mere mortals to know that Heavenly Father knows best. Put your trust in Him and know that whatever happens he is there with you and all will be as He would have it be for you. Sounds as if your sweet hubby is very worried for you and maybe he should consider asking for a Priesthood blessing as well to help him with his fears for you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers and I certainly wish the very best for you. Take care and keep the faith...I will also call the Dallas Temple and have your name put on the prayer roll. You will have a lot of people praying for you. God bless Alfie
