1: Be under 200 lbs -- how cool our goal is basically the same here. Obtain temple reccomentd again, increase our income.
2: I don't know yet. I am hoping that 'truelly' coming to terms with what is lies ahead w/our adopted son. That really is something that I have accepted yet I haven't.
3: A HECK of a LOT thinner!! In a job that I enjoy and can bring home an income that will support my family.
4: Healthy. Able to keep up with my children.

I hear ya - I still see a 368 lb hippo when I look in the mirror. Sometimes though I will be walking by a mirror and see myself out of the corner of my eye when I am not expecting it and think, wow, Im kinda cute!!
Congrats on your realization!~

Topic: stranger watching me shower
I got out of the shower this morning, dried off and put on my garments. That's when I looked up to see a stranger in my bathroom watching me. I don't know where this stranger appeared from. They weren't in the bathroom when I got in to the shower.
That stranger was in my mirror. I happened to look in the mirror while I was in my underwear and couldn't believe what I saw. I wondered if other people saw the same person I did. The person I saw was overweight but more chubby and not obese, certainly not morbidly obese. My mind still sees a morbidly obese person when I look in the mirror. Seeing this person in their underwear made me want to go around all day in just my underwear (NEVER, NEVER, I'm just dreaming).
I'm still 40 pounds from my doctors goal for me and 50 pounds away from my personal goal. I need to get rid of my "old" image, the image I remember and allow myself to see and believe this new image of me.

Topic: RE: Sunday's Getting to Know you Questions
Hello,
So glad people want to pick up on this board some, I check in but find not much change.....
Hey, I wanna play:
1) I was born and raised in Northern California, met my husband on my mission in Texas, (He was my Zone leader) and moved here to his home state of Utah ("Mormonland")
2) My parents joined the church when I was 2, I remember kneeling at the alter of the Oakland temple when I was 4.
3) I am 2 months out yesterday (16th) am finally feeling like I'm "Glad I did this".....I'm a slowpoke loser, have only lost 37 lbs.
4) I am married, to a really great man---however, I find WLS has brought up all my issues. (a good thing) realize my husband enabled me to be fat, (Isn't this journey called "Life" fun?!)
We have 5 biological children together (oldest are twins) Started when I was 29, was done by 35! (Don't try this at home!....)
5) Yes, how can we get everybody to check in more regularly? I do have to say with all we have to do as LDS church members, and mom's of kids and etc. I understand why we wouldn't have time to "LIVE" on the computer like so many I see on the regular message boards, sheesh! (LOL)
It is so wonderful to have support though, with others who are going through this, as I've never felt so abandoned by my ward friends as I have since this surgery.
6) I do not homeschool my children for two reasons,
A) They have a wonderful school and have developed good friendships and learn social skills they can't learn anywhere else.
B) If I homeschooled them, they would be retarted.
Hope we can all keep in touch, I think we need each other!!!
