Thank you Gala. I'm still not really sure what benefit being being listed as a "friend" has, except that it's fun. Melody

Click on the "friend" part of the my post and it will send a message to me to approve you as a friend. Or if you go to each person profile there is a 'friend' button on it I think. Gala

Yes, I am very excited. I would LOVE to meet her. I'm reading her 8th book in the Mitford Years series now. "Light from Heaven" I'm about half way through it. I'm in the Deseret Book club "Time out for Women" so I can't devote every minute to the Jan Karon books like I would like to. They certainly are addictive. I hope that you get a chance to go and meet her. Thank you for clueing me in on her wonderful books! I tell everyone who will listen about her series. It must be working because when I was in the library recently, one of her books was checked out. I would love for her series to really catch fire up here. We all could benefit from some clean, wholesome, entertaining reading. Melody

Topic: New icons on our posts
I was browsing this site today and I noticed some new icons on our posts. One of them is titled "friends". Do we have to send a message and ask specifically if someone will be our friend or do we just click on the "friend" icon to initiate the asking? Does anyone know? I would like to be a friend to everyone on this site as I consider all of you my friends. Melody

Christy, great site, I'm passing it on for my grandaughters, and I would like one to wear at the gym. So scarry when all the grannies are lined up for water programs, and all you can see is tons of loose skin and unever bulges. Obviously the original designs were for surfing, but definately would be great for many the old gals I know. Linda W. P.S. Here is another one I bookmarked. When I was a young woman on a mission they didn't have anything like this. Thought it was a site worth saving. These suits of course would work well for business ware also. https://lds.twinhill.com/lds/index.jsp

Kaye, I haven't posted to you since I spoke to you earlier this month but I want you to know that you are in my prayers each morning and night. Let me know if you are still running a fever and if you've gone to another doctor. Love, Melody

Cristie, I don't know anyone who has gone to Mexico for their surgery but I have a personal friend who flew to Brazil for her surgery. She recommends going to Brazil for anyone that is self pay. Including air fare, hospital, surgeon, hotel fees; the total cost was approx. $15,000. She said the facilities in Brazil are absolutely the most modern technology available. The surgeon is U.S. trained and is one of the best in the world. If you want more information on going to Brazil I can give you the name and e-mail address of my friend who went to Brazil. Good luck, Melody

Did anyone go to Mexico for their surgery? How was your experience?

Gala, I, too, feel selfish & that my "problems" are just insignificant. I am so sorry for the troubles you have experienced. You must have some strong shoulders! I wish that I had the magic words to make everything all better. Years ago, I walked out of Relief Society in tears due to something that the RS President said that totally embarassed me. Another sister (who I was not close to at all, and we really didn't care a whole lot for each other!) came running after me crying as well. She begged me not to let another member chase me from church. She was crying and said don't let someone else keep you from the Celestial Kingdom. She was right. Now when someone asks me a particularly nosey question, I just follow the advice of Ann Landers and ask them... "Why do you ask?" They'll probably just say something about caring about you, etc. Simply tell them, "Thank you for your concern." Tell them NOTHING that you don't want to and just walk away. I really don't mean to tell you what to do... this is just what I do. Just know that we all love you and support you. We are happy to listen to you. There are many days where I need to vent, too. After 21 years, I've realized that DH ISN'T Prince Charming and can be a real pain in the neck at times! And our children!?!?!? My son is away at school and only contacts us when he wants something. Figures. My prayers are with you. Take a deep breath and talk to your Heavenly Father. He loves you, too.
