Linda, I'm so glad that things are going well with you. Keep it up and don't forget to get your water intake in, especially with our hot weather. I know it's difficult to get much water in when you're so newly post-op but it is so very important.
You are wise to keep in close contact with your PCP about your blood pressure medicine. My husband and I worked full time ambulance for many, many years. I remember about 6 years ago responding to an ambulance call where a woman had passed out. She had had WLS and was still taking her full dose of BP medication. The WLS had dropped her high blood pressure down to normal limits and the BP medication was dropping her too low which caused her to pass out.
What a wise woman you are to be on top of things.
Keep up the good work and hang in there.

Topic: RE: Any suggestions?
Yesterday we had a gathering of sisters who want to have a reading group together. One of the options we discussed was having one of these Deseret Book Club reading groups. But until we determine if we want to do that, we agreed to read Orson Scot Cards, Sarah. He is a best selling Author who has written books on Biblical women, and made fictional stories to give them life and personality. Apparently they are available in most of our local Texas Libraries, so that's where we choose to start as a group.
I always enjoy your post Melody, you are truly an inspiration to me.
Love,
Linda W.

Checking in on my fellow sisters, and hope there are less stresses and more good moments happening than the group has had for awhile. My surgery went well, and I feel really blessed to have had this opportunity to receive a tool like this to help me in my senior years. So far loosing at a typical rate for a new post op. Hit three weeks on Tuesday, and also hit the three week standstill. That so many seem to mention. But the really good news is, I have had such low blood pressure, that I am already off of both my meds. WOW who would have thought that could happen so fast. But I did check with my PCP and he said to go ahead and stay off of them, I was getting readings like 99/66 can't beat that when a woman is 61 years old. Last November my blood pressure was so high, that I had blurry spots in my left eye. Needless to say, I no longer work for that difficult employer, and came home and found out about this wonderful surgery!
I was also starting to get diabetic, and frequently felt bad and didn't make it to my meetings, and am already finding that my activity and attendance is improving, now that I don't have the blood sugar issues!
Not till I had gone and done the surgery did I tell the sisters in my Branch. Didn't want to hear all the negative crap! And have actually found them supportive, now that I've done it!
Our sisters in the Gospel can sometimes be the ones that give us the most grief, I guess it's like our sisters in our own familes, they think they should have some say so in what we do to ourselves.
We don't post often on this board, but I do enjoy sharing with my spiritual sisters, and felt the need to update you on my progress, and of course would love to hear how some of you are doing as well.

Per your suggestion, I went to the library and checked out "At home in Mitford". I should be finished with it today and will go back to the library and check out another Mitford book. You were absolutely correct - they are GREAT. Thank you for your suggestion.

That really is a "WOW" moment. What precious and valuable information you have been given. Don't waste it. Someone's urging you on.

It is a great place to live when it is not pouring down rain. The pride we have to pay for all of the green mose in our lawns and on the roofs of our houses. Barbara

i agree there is a power greater then us, and when a person wants to be found, it will be done. Maybe someone in your family will know who the people are. Make copies and send or take with you. Have a good time in Boise, I have a brother in Vancouver WA. Nice area to visit at times. Kaye

My Mother passed away last year and I have had lots of things to sort out. I was just getting finsihed yesterday when there was this 1 picture that was very old and I didn't know who the people were, but it was a very old picture. I like photography and I also do crafts and scrapbooking so I decided to take the picture out of the frame and use it somehow. When I did that, a piece of paper fell out. It was an obituary of my Great Grandfather from 1885. Sometimes you wonder why you do things. I must have been guided by "something above". I am going to be in Boise next week with a reuion with Second Cousins that we have not seen each other since High School and we all know that was a very long time ago. I spoke with them last night. Everyone is very excited about my find and want copies. Later Barbara
