Welcome Annette! I'm probably the newest member of the board prior to your arrival, so that definately makes you the newest. I think I found the board in a similar manner as you. By accident. Been checking everyday to see if the dust has been stired on this page. So very glad your hear. Lets see, Billings - one of those places I've driven through to get to someplace else a few times. Actually I have had a Montana SS card, due to working in West Yellowston one summer. I have a sister that lives in Alberta, so have had the opportunity to see the beauty of your great state. Living in Texas, one of the places Texas girls always tell me they want to see is Mont. We definately need the support of our sisters on this board. Linda in Texas

Welcome to the board!! Sometimes it is a little slow around here, so be patient if you don't get responses right away. Are you having the lap band or gastric bypass? Noticed on your profile that you were married in the Seattle temple. We just got back from vacation in Seattle this past week. The Seattle temple is beautiful. Topic: Wow! An LDS Board!!!
I finally decided to fill out my "interests" section, and marked the "Mormonism" (don't you just love that title)? After I went over to my local board in MT, I noticed on the left side that we have our own board! I live in Billings, MT and only know people who have had GB, but I am jumping (hopefully) thru my last pre-op hoop by having a cardiac eval and pulmonary eval per my insurance company before having an adjustible lap band done in Great Falls, MT. They only do GB here in Billings. I've been a member since 1984 and I can't wait to be a "loser"! I'm just thrilled that besides the folks on the lap band board, I can talk to fellow latter-day saints who've experienced what I'm experiencing. I've been getting nervous since my cardio eval is tomorrow. The Lord is surely watching out for me by sending me all of you!

Hi Joyce, Is Dr Simpson no longer doing the Duodenal Switch? I remember corresponding with him several years ago while I was fighting my insurance to cover the DS when they said it was investigational after they readily paid for it for many years. At some point, I had heard that Simpson was no longer taking out of state patients. I had actually given Dr Simpson's name to my brother in Phoenix, who finally decided upon wls after seeing my success, but sadly it was not to be ... my brother, at age 48 had a massive brain hemorrhage last year, caused by years of obesity, hypertension and Type II Diabetes. I had the DS with Dr. Gary Anthone 18 months ago and except for the same six pounds that I keep gaining and losing - not sure if it is because of that time of the month or what - but with the malabsorption of the DS I probably won't have to struggle with regain unless I overload on sugar and carbs. With the hotter weather, though, I am being vigilant about drinking LOTS of water so as not to get dehydrated. Good to hear you are getting everyone back on track at your office ... such a good leader! Watch out ... you'll probably get called as RS pres, LOL! Laurie

Topic: RE: size 10 temple dress
Good for you!!! I just recently decided I better get a new temple dress too, and couldn't believe it when I fit in a size 12!! I ended up getting a 14P instead, because with my batwings, the sleeves in the 12 were a little tight when moving my arms around and I was tripping over the hem, cause I'm short. I checked your profile and it's amazing ... you don't even look like the same person! You have done so well with your weight loss - you must be proud of this achievement! Laurie in So Calif.

Congratulations on your size 10 temple dress. I know that we're all equal in the temple, but wearing a size 10 opposed to a size 26/28 sure makes attending the temple sessions more comfortable with all the sitting and standing we do. I'm sure proud of you and proud that you can feel so much better about yourself. Melody
