Topic: Feeling a little illiterate here
Okay friends and fellow board members. I'm having a problem that I'm feeling a little inadequate about.
With the new OH look and the new format - How do I find this mormonism message board?
I've looked and searched and clicked and clicked again. I just can't find it. Right now I have to wait for someone to post and then I click on their post to "read the full message" and I get into the Mormonism message board that way. I know there's a better way to get in here. I like to check this board regularly and feel real silly not being able to find it.
If you respond and tell me how to find it, remember, I'm getting older and I need step by step instructions. Don't just tell me to turn west at the "yellow house" you'll need to tell me to go to "Gormon street and turn right onto Lilly street". I need specifics.
Thank you in advance. In the meantime, I'm going to save the last post I received so I can use that one and check the boards.

Daph, Nolan, Kris and their family have been in my prayers both morning and night. How are they doing? I know that Nolan is the one with the cancer, but it's just as hard if not harder on Kris. Everyone seems to focus on the one with the cancer and the support people tend to be in the background. That's why I include Kris everyday in my prayers as well.
The prayers will continue.

Hi Caja, Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for protein drinks, but I just wanted to welcome you the Mormonism board and say Hi and let you know we have something in common ... I also had the Duodenal Switch Surgery (in Omaha, no less) and of course we are both LDS! (I think I've only met 2 other people who are LDS and had the DS surgery.)
You might also want to visit duodenalswitch.com and ask over there. Our nutritional needs do differ somewhat from lap banders and RNYers.
Oooh, I do have one suggestion for protein drinks ... my surgeon gave me samples of Unjury (unjury.com) - I do like the UNFLAVORED powder and I put it in oatmeal, baked goods and so forth. It is a little pricey, but they do offer sample sizes and then you can buy a large canister of your fav flavor.

Caja, I just ran across a very good protein drink. It was recommended on the OFF site so I ordered it online to try it and love it. I am very picky about how my protein tastes plus I can't do drinks with artificial sweetners because they make me sick. This one has stevia in it and is high in protein grams- 24 per scoop..- no hormones . Very natural and great tasting. They have chocolate, strawberry, and pina colada.
You can go to JayRobb.com or call 1-877-Jay-robb. Hope that helps.

Congragulations on your surgery date Barbara! Thats great. When I had my surgery I shared it with my close friends in the church. They were very loving and supportive. They brought meals in for my husband and son and they even came in and cleaned my house one day which I was so grateful for. My house wasn't that bad but it was the love and support that I received from them that meant so much.Little by little I have shared with others about my surgery. I have been a very slow loser but I have many who ask me how I'm doing, they compliment me when they see me on how good I look and that means a lot to me. I initially wasn't going to tell anyone but my ward has been a great support to me so I have no regrets. This has to be a personal decision for you and I wish you well!!!

Nolan is in my prayers too. I know this is a very difficult time for you. I know Nolan must be very special to you. My prayers are for you too and that whatever the outcome you will feel peace and comfort in your life.

I feel the same way about the failures. I think I will approach it as ab surgery. Some people can be so mean. I think people think that WLS is an easy journey after the initial surgery. I feel they don't give you credit for all of the hard work that you still had to do.
Is your son still on his mission?
Last week I had the worst Missionary dinner ever!!!!!!!!!! My husband went to pick up the Missionaies and I discovered that the element in my oven had gone out. I served them Chicken Dino's that I had in the freezer for the Grandchildren. It was actually funny after the shock wore off. It will be a Missionary dinner I will never forget. later Barbara

Way To Go!! I have gone through my closet twice and thrown out clothes that are too big, and it is a great feeling. Keep up the good work. It is so worth it.
