Topic: OT: Daddy's Hand
Hey there...
I know I've been MIA for a while. Gonna ask a favor if you of you if you don't mind.
I entered Abi into a photo contest. It is one of my all time fav. pics of her.
She had a rough birth, ended in emergency c-section, deep suctioning that actually ended in scratching her esophogus (didn't find that out till the next day) anyway she was a wailing away.... When they let James see her for the first time he set the camera down...took her little hand and she immediatly was quiet and calm.
Gives me chills just thinking back to that moment.
One of the nurses picked up our camera and took this picture...Abi is all of about 5 min. old. It is one of the first pics taken of her (other than butt first coming out of my stomach. LOL)

Bless her heart!!!
If you wouldn't mind pls vote for her.
Thanks, Gala

Topic: RE: HAPPY THURSDAY FROM TEXAS !!!!
Thats great Alfie. It is hard and yes it is work, but putting Heavenly Father first can make the path a little easier to walk.
I hope that you are patient and get to your goal.

Good job Alfie. I think we tend to forget our partner in this journey. I think we tend to forget to ask our Heavenly Father to help us.
I'm speaking for myself here, I tend to think that I shouldn't bother my HF with something as trivial as helping me with food cravings. I think I should be saving His time and energy for the bigger issues. I KNOW that He wants us to come to Him with everything, even if it's about my food cravings.
Thanks for the reminder and the post. Glad you've had a good week.

Topic: HAPPY THURSDAY FROM TEXAS !!!!
Hi there
I've had a very sucessful week and just had to share it
I have been off track for several months with no weight loss at all and still have about 50 pounds to lose. So this week I have really pushed the water and stayed on protein drinks and no extra carbs...If I have the urge to graze I grab a piece of sugar free gum. It has been really hard I have to tell ya but I feel so much better about myself. I haven't stepped on the scales but my pants are looser around the waist..not a lot but noticable.
I was really scared that the OLD WAYS were going to be in control again forever. I've been very specific in my prayers this week to.
I know what my weak spots are and I've been pouring my heart out to Heavenly Father to keep me from giving in to the stuff I don't need to be putting in this mouth...haha
He has heard my prayers and helped me soooooooooo much this week.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I work a four day work week now so today is my friday...
Take care and stay strong.
Alfie
Topic: RE: Hey...I finally did it
I see that you had your surgery in 2001. Have you had any trouble with putting any weight back on? I see where Al Roker put about 25lbs back on and was working to take it off again. Did you change everything you eat? I would think at your size now it would be worth striving to maintain. Where I am at now, I feel like "What is the difference I might as well eat it". Barbara

I started at 220 and I'm currently 112. My BMI is 24.5 and I wear a size 2-4. I'm 4' 9" tall....or should I say short?

Topic: RE: Feeling awkward in RS...
Darlene-
I have been where you are. And on some level am still there. My husband and I have been fighting infertility for 3 years after the birth of our only child. I had the surgery to hopefully remedie the situation.
I have been inactive for about 6 years and only attend occasionally. The thought that does get me through is that I am not attending church for the people but for the things that I learn and also so that I can partake in the sacrament. Now that my son in in Sunbeams I have found it easier to go to church but it is still hard. We have lived in the same ward for 3 years and I hardly know anybody. What I do know is that when we do attend I have the best week, my husband (a non-member)and I argue less and my son constanly serenades us to "Scripture Power", I also feel less hopeless about having more children.
I hope this helps a little...

Topic: RE: I feel really fat!!!!!!!!!!
Barbara,
Been there, Done that!! And asking for help to get out of the chairs in RS is just so humliating! I understand just how you feel, and it will not get any better.
Like Melody, the decision to have surgery is not a decision to take lightly. I tell people that it is a last resort type of thing when everything else you have tried has done no good. It will all come to pass if you are patient and you can deal with the questions that doctors will ask of you to better make the medical decision with you.
Good Luck and know that I am praying for you.
