Alfie, some might say that at 71 years old your brother had lived his life. I know that you don't feel like he had completed all he was sent here to do. It's hard to lose a loved one, even with our knowledge of what is to come, it's a difficult thing to do. Our earthly emotions make us mourn for OUR loss. The gospel plan is a wonderful thing. Go and have fun on your vacation. Moping while you're gone or being depressed because you're having fun during this time won't change anything but make you and everyone else around you miserable. Go, laugh, play and have the best time you can have. Melody

Topic: Half Dome hike is coming up
On July 9th, I'm hiking to half dome. I'm getting excited!! I've jumped from a plane (in April) and now the hike. I'll have to do some creative thinking on what to do next. Maybe skindive tanks and all. I'd like to go to Mexico and visit the Nephite/Lamanite ruins. My hubby and I are leaving he end of July and two weeks in August to drive back to Nauvoo. My ancestors came across the plains with Bro Brigham so it holds a special place for me. We plan to attend a few Temple sessions. I can't wait for the trip. Christy

Topic: How the calling is going
I'm easing into Youngwomens. The girls are great. My advisor teaches wonderful lessons, but she is young and unfortunately tries to take over at times. I think she forgets I'm the President. I'm not a confrontational person so this is the stuff I hate about being the President in organizations. I've had it happen in Primary and RS too. Anyway, I guess she realized it a bit of it on Sunday and called me and apologized. I was getting ready to call her and discuss the events of the day that led to the issue and lo and behold she called me first. I was trying to think of way of leading and guiding without sounding disgruntled. I went for a long walk/hike with my husband and prayed along the way for inspiration. I guess her call was an answer to my prayer. I'm glad I got called in the summer when things are easy and slow. Christy

I have that too and its a bugger. Maybe you just need an adjustment. go to the chiropractor and get a massage Christy

Topic: RE: Loss of loved one
We lost my mother-in-law two years ago this Saturday from the same thing. She wasn't LDS, but she is now. We were able to do the work for my FIL and MIL and have them sealed. My husband then was sealed to his parents. We did this all on the same day that we took our youngest son through the Temple for his endowments. He is in Washington on his mission. All my children and their spouses were there that day. It was a very sweet day...one of the very best. I guess the next thing will be when my youngest gets married...hopefully we will all be there again. Sorry for you loss, but you can be assured that he is hearing the gospel and that you can have his work done when the time is right. Take care. Christy

Thanks to you all for your thoughts and prayers. They mean the world to me. They are having his funeral this friday so I'm getting myself as ready as possible for that. I know he is much better off but as a human I'm selfish..I'm going to miss him greatly. Ya'll have a great rest of the week and when I get back on the 11th I'll check in with you. Take care and be safe Alfie

I am so sorry for your loss - I will pray for you and your family in this difficult time. I know your vacation won't be the same, but try to imagine that your brother will be with you, free to enjoy things he couldn't before. You might even see him in a sunset. I will have my thoughts with you on Friday! -Sherrie
