Hi Melody
Thanks for the reply. I have taken some tylenol but that doesn't seem to help at all. Got really bad a couple of weekends ago and I took some hydrocodone ( I know I didn't spell that right haha) but that really knocks me out. I felt better afterwards though.
How are things going for you?? I know this past month has been a difficult one for you. I think about you a lot and the trials you are facing.
take care and keep in touch

Topic: Through someone else's eyes
I have a friend in our ward who is thin and very attractive. She called me one day for some advice. She feels like she would like to lose a few pounds (post baby) and asked me if drinking water stretched the stomach. It told her that YES drinking water would stretch her stomach if she drank it with a meal. I told her that her stomach has a valve at it's outlet into the intestine, when her stomach is full of food and she drinks 16 oz of water then she could be stretching her pouch with the combination of the food and the quantity of water. We then got onto the subject of weight. She asked me how much I weighed. That day I weighed 123 pounds. I learned that she and I were within one pound of each other. (this morning I weighed 121 pounds).
I look at her and see a slender person. I look in the mirror and see a whale. It's tough to retrain our minds to see what others see.

I discovered I could do something that I've never in my life have been able to do. When I'm sitting down, I can lay my head totally on my lap and if I move my legs apart a little bit I can even put my head between my legs. Never in my life have I been able to get my head anywhere close to my lap, let alone my knees. I find it's comfortable to sit that way too. When I'm tired, I just put my head down and relax. I could almost fall asleep doing it. I used to watch people doing that when I was morbidly obese and think they must be super flexible and belong in a circus or something. I never dreamed that I would someday be able to do the same thing.

Alfie, I don't know what to tell you. I have heard that other people have similar problems. I haven't heard what they've been able to do about it. I went through several months when I hurt every time I moved. I wouldn't say it was my joints persay but it was definately my muscles. Now that I think back on it, I hurt so bad that my joints were involved too. Ibuprofen became my friend. I know that Ibuprofen is something we're discouraged to take but I hurt soo bad that I was willing to try it and see if I had problems with it. Thankfully, I never experienced any problems taking it. I took it for a good 3-4 month, two tablets, twice a day. Once in the morning and again when I went to bed so I could get some sleep.
My problem resolved itself and I haven't had to take any for 3-4 weeks now.
I'm NOT telling you to take something that is contraindicated for us but for me it was the right decision. It certainly helped.
Good luck. I hope you find relief.

Topic: Need advise please
HI everyone
Need some advise. Have any of you had any problems with your joints since you lost weight?? I have been having a terrible time with my right hip. My surgeon said it was due to the body readjusting to the weight distribution. Ok I can see that and just decided to be patient for a while..six months to be exact. So still having major problems to the point of losing sleep every night. So went to a orthopedic surgeon and he did xrays and MRI. No arthritis no bone spurs and no fractures of any kind. But on the MRI they did find cyst on both my ovaries. The ortho dr said that could very well be the source of the pain. Called my OBGYN and talked to him he said that the cyst were not large enough to cause the kind of pain I am decsribing....so HELP...not sure what to do next.
Hope all is going well for everyone. Lots of lay offs going on where I work so haven't had time to post...I do peak in on ya'll though.
Have a great day

Topic: RE: Need a muffin recipe
Not sure this is what you are looking for. However, I'll give it a try. I don't "use recipes" it is off the top of my head...so here goes it.
Egg Muffins or similiar to a quiche.
I take a mix up stuff for scrambled eggs (egg, milk, ham, cheese, bacon, onions ect ect) - And put it my Tupperware Mini Muffin pan that can/does go in the Microwave or Oven. In the micro it is about 2 min. and they are done. My kids LOVE them. In a reg. muffin pan I am not sure how long to cook in the oven... Probably same as a quiche recipe.
These are quick, easy and pretty tasty. I also add salt because they can be a bit bland.

Topic: Need a muffin recipe
I have been looking for a recipe for muffins that I can eat for breakfast in the morning and not get in to trouble. Help me please and I will be grateful for ever.
BTW....I am doing fine. My dd graduated high school two weeks ago she will be going to college in the fall. So I am feeling a little blue. But doing good.

Josie, I've made a special effort to get to the temple twice within one week, I'll go again in two days and again on Tuesday. That makes four trips in less than 3 weeks. There are definate blessing involved with attending the temple.
Lucifer is trying his best to break apart my family. I've said outloud "Satan - it's not working, it's just making me stronger. So leave me alone."
Hope you get to the temple. It's worth every bit of effort you make.
Good luck.
Melody
