That's so Awesome Tracy! I am headed in for surgery this Thursday in Fredericton.. I'm so excited! I Hope they book you soon!
Wow. That was fast!! Now to just wait for your call with a date! Congratulations!!!
Oh Kim this is awful news. I'm so anxious myself with all the waiting, the financial aspects that need taking care of as well as the time off work. It looks like there's no light at the end of the tunnel and as much as people tell you to be patient it just plainly sucks waiting :)
I've got my fingers crossed for you that the phone call you've been waiting for comes sooner then we think it will.
Take care,
Jana
Hi Everyone :)
I am new to this forum! My name is Tracy. I have been on the bariatric waiting list since December 2010 in Bathurst, NB. I took the courage and called August 15th 2014 to see where they were on the waiting list. I was told they were seeing patients from Dec 2009-Jan 2010 and was told I would get a call for sure within the new year! So new year came along and I wasn't feeling good about myself and decided to start Simply For Life (Yes...another time lol). Once morning while browsing on facebook, I seen a post that a friend had posted and made me question where they were on the waiting list!! When I went to chat with my friend, she had just received her call after been waiting only since April 2011. This is when I gave them another call. I was told they had tried to call but there was no answer :( She was able to give me my first appointment which was only 1 week from that phone call...
Finally on March 6th 2015, I had my first appointment!!! On the 12th I seen my surgeon (Dr Yves Semerjian), on the 13th had my sleep apnea testing done and yesterday the 16th had my group information session!! Things are finally moving!! I am physically and mentally ready!! Even have all my Boosts bought...lol...helped that they were on sale at Walmart and Shoppers this week ;)
I have done up a facebook group to help with the transition!! You are more than welcomed to join :)

well i lost over 200 pds in the 2.5 years since surgery. i have had ups and downs. it is a struggle every day. the first year seems so easy easy to lose and it is but then after that you are on even ground again with everyone fighting for every pound. i really recommend to folk to take advantage of that first year. i am up 20 pds to be honest in the last year and have started low carb again to get it off. i never ever want to be thin, i was down to 222 and was so uncomfortable (this may seem unbelievable to some) but i would like to be at 230 as it is a weight i was most comfy with. i guess i got too comfy there and the scale eeked up.
and this is with ealking at the track 4-5 times a week...4.0+KM at a time
just proves that my addiction to food will never end and that VSG is not a miracle but a great tool.
I am inclined to agree that it would be ok, as would probably most anything that doesn't add calories. I won't worry about that!
So happy for you that this part is behind you and you are doing great!
Welcome to the losers bench!! So glad to hear that things are going well :)
Well I am sitting up playing on the computer so things are pretty good. A bit nauseous but I am having an apple juice that tastes wonderful
