Audra,
I know just what you mean' I've had tears flowing all evening. She had an incredibly infectious laugh and warm personality. I think all that have had the privilege of meeting her will always remember her with deep fondness.
Let me know if you want information about the services when I get the information.

Our dear friend, Lisa Clarke (aka LadySteeler), passed away yesterday afternoon.
Her friend and co-worker, Kendra another member of our group, sent me a message about her passing earlier today. She was not sure of the specifics, but apparently Lisa had a fairly minor surgical procedure at the beginning of the week and was still in the hospital when she died. They think she suffered from a blood clot post surgery.
As Kendra said, and all who were blessed by her presence knew, Lisa was such a life force it's hard to imagine a world without her in it.
If you would like information about services, please send me a note and I'll get the information to you just as soon as I have more information.

I'm down another pound today. I've officially lost 75 pounds today.

It is shorts weather today! I heard that predictions for the end of February is pretty bruital as far as weather is concerned. Well, you know how predictions go. Hopefully they will be wrong.
Today I have three opportunities to make new members at work! Hopefully I will say all the right things and speak from my heart.
My boss and I are going out to Kildare's Irish Pub in Chapel Hill this evening to listen to an Irish music session. We want to have a big St. Patrick's Day fundraiser and Ceili with a real Irish band. So, she wants to listen to their music. This should be fun. Maybe I will cut a jig or two lol.
Hope you all have a great day!
This is my day off and I have lots to do. I have clothes to wash. Probably should clean. Have to meet someone in Raleigh this afternoon. So much. I may even break out the Excel and struggle through the lesson. I have almost given up on these classes. My interests are waining big time.
I hope you all have a great day!!
Mondays are always difficult having to be at work at 7am but I like my afternoons free.
I have been watching some instructional DVDs on the Curves Weight Management system and how extensive the research has been. Over 10 years of research and at least 2000 women have gone into this system and it makes sense. I will try to explain it as best I can. The problem with conventional diets is that it is based on low calories in and high energy out. It has been proven without a doubt that this type of diet lowers our metabolism thus makes it extremely difficult to maintain the weight loss. No one wants to diet the rest of their lives but when the metabolism is so low, you would have to. Also it has been proven that 95% of the lost is from muscle tissue, not fat. Remember muscle and metabolism have a lot in common with how we burn calories. If the body senses a "starvation" setup is in place, it will defend itself. Therefore, conventional diets fail. Now, their program has been proven to work to recover metabolism every 30 days by increasing calorie intake. This is done for 2-4 weeks and you maintain your weight within 3 lbs, then it's back to the 1200 calorie diet. This allows the metabolism to recover and again help burn that fat.
My question to the experts is how would this translate to the gastric bypass patient whose internal system has been radically changed. I am going to see if I can get some answers. MAYBE this will give some insight as to why some gastric bypass patients gain their weight back. Remember, we went through a very fast rapid weight loss that HAD to have affected our metabolism as well. I will get back to you on that.
Have a good day all!
Good things come to those who wait. I am so happy to have the job of my dreams. I didn't think I could ever have that. This is something I could not have planned. Yesterday I put my feet all over the walls lol. Well, ladies, you will just have to come by the East Durham Curves to check it out.
Anyway, how are you all today? Today is church then it will be viewing CD/DVDs for work and I have to get back into my school books, grrrrrr. I want to finish this!
So, that's about it for me, you?
TBL-yay for being out of the 20's!! It's an awesome feeling :)
As for me, I did actually force myself out of the house yesterday and got moving to the tune of a 2 mile walk. And today I doubled it for a 4 mile walk! I feel so much better after exercising!
