At my 14 month post op appointment, my gastric surgeon offered a panniculectomy at his cost of $5000. My "apron" is a type 1 so my insurance will not cover it. However, a hernia repair along with the panniculectomy was the option. Has anyone had a panniculectomy verses the tummy tuck a plastic surgeon performs? Just hoping from some info to help make my decision. Thanks for your support and advice in yet another step in the journey of WLS.

You’ll be on what I love to call the Weight Loss Roller-coaster. Some days will be great – because you’ll be looking forward to it. Others no so great – because you’ll be doubting yourself about success and/or something with Doctor’s wanting more tests or Insurance asking for something will get to you. Always remember, in the end IT ALL WORKS OUT!!

So sorry to hear about your loss, you are absolutely correct about transfer addictions.. They are real, and do kill.
