Dr. Washington is not in NJ anymore. He is down in South Carolina, he left sometime in December of 2010. He was suppose to do my surgery and was told by his staff he was "retiring". He was suppose to do my surgery and found out the week of my surgery that someone else would be doing it.

Most surgeon's hold a monthly informational meeting to talk about all the surgery options. It's free (and often a pre op requirement) so go to one and here all the general info about the surgeries and ask any questions you have. Then you will have some time to mull it all over before your 1 on 1 apt with the surgeon.
I am grateful I had surgery. (I had RNY). It was 17 months ago and the surgery doesn't fix everything about you and food but it does help you to loose enough weight to feel motivated to figure out your food issues and to fight to stay at a healthy weight.

I have them. I didn't have any trouble getting approved for RNY surgery. As long as your paperwork is in order and your doctor and his staff complete everything that they require, they will work with you to find a resolution.
