Just wanting to blab..
Just want to blab a bit and wake myself up.
Well I'm working on three hours of sleep last night. I woke up with a panic attack and couldn't go back to sleep. I had one last night also right after dinner. I couldn't decide if I should take a zyrtec or xanax.lol I need to find out if I can take both of those together! :) I ended up eating a banana and it calmed me down a tad bit. Makes me wonder if my sugar level was low. I have such issues with that when I don't eat much. Lol, either that or I'm using food for comfort!! It wouldn't be a shocker if I was. :) BUT, I'm happy it was just a banana so all is well. hehe
Yesterday...I took my kids to register for school.yayyyyyy!! I'm so excited, and they are also ecstatic. In two hours I take my son in for a physical. I'm getting really scared you guys. He is eleven, five foot tall, and now wearing mens clothing. I went to buy him school clothes and he is in a large to extra large mens t shirts, and size 34-36 pants. ughh My heart just dropped when I saw that. He's gaining even more weight, I can tell. I'm curious to see how much he weighs at the doctors office this morning.
I am trying to get him to eat healthy, but he just won't do it. It's like he's out of control, he REFUSES to eat hardly any veggies. He is really addicted to carbs, that's all he ever wants. When he gets hungry he literally acts out of control. If I make him wait he will start a big scene and actually tighten his fists and shake, like if he's trying to control his anger (but not doing a good job of it). He then says he can't handle it and whines and whines, and acts uncontrollable. He's still sneaking food also. We ordered pizza a few weeks ago and he ate his two pieces and I made him stop. Told him if he wanted more then he could have some salad. Just a few minutes later my husband went into the kitchen to get more pizza and ALL the sausage on the whole pizza was gone. He snuck in the kitchen and ate all the sausage off of it because "it looked good and he was still hungry". Sometimes he says he doens't even eat breakfast (here it will be like eleven ), just so he can have another breakfast before lunch. I'm so stuck on what to do. I then hate to tell him no just in case he was serious, and I hate accusing he's lying, but what else am I going to do? I saw him and my eight year old this morning race about thirty feet and he was out of breath and she won. This is killing me, and I can't lock up all the cupboards on him and never let him out of my sight. I don't know what to do anymore.
Other than that my job hunt is STILL going. I'm so sick of interviews. But I'm trying to stop stressing so much..(per dentists orders...)and enjoy the rest of summer!
Oooh...and my weight loss. :) I'm happy to say I'm down AGAIN to my lowest. LOL that just sounds soo funny. I wonder how many times Ive lost the same ten pounds this last year. I'm playing around with things (foods and attitudes of myself) and seeing what the deal is with myself. Think I "might" be figuring it out! :) wooot!! Wish me luck!
Sounds like a madhouse over there but your not sleeping is disturbing. If YOU'RE not taken care of, it'll be almost impossible to take care of everyone else..
The good thing is that I have some personal experience with a lot of different drugs (tee hee)
I would not only get panic attacks but a massive case of giant urticaria at the same time. Sometimes I'd get the hives with just stress instead of panic. My doc checked with the drug company and told me to take 2 zyrtec as soon as the hives appeared (knowing that I take 3 xanax a day already).
I love both drugs.. xanax a little more than the zyrtec though (tee hee)
You're doing so well with your weight loss..... With all that you go through, you are enduring... you and Beth are my poster girls for "DOING THE DO"
Amen girlie... keep on keepin' on.!!
Is it possible to stop buying junk and so many carby foods? How about getting a lock for the kitchen closet and maybe putting up some of those items? I know my step-son is so grateful to me for getting his weight under control. He's is so energetic now! I limit the amount of time he can spend on X-box and the computer and insist he goes outside. It's generally not a problem. He used to get so out of breath and would not run like he does now. He said he is so much happier and doesn't want to get like that again.
I insist that he eats at least some fruits and vegetables or he doesn't get any junk. Since he is of a normal weight now he can eat quite a bit and not gain due to just going outside and playing. He will thank you in the long run. It took a while for my step-son to adjust too. I don't try and make him eat fruits or vegetables he doesn't like. I just give him the ones he does. If he didn't like any then I would have to insist that he picks the one he can tolerate and just deal with it.
You'd be amazed by him getting out and moving more and being too busy to eat will do!! Good luck.

I've heard you talk about your hubby needing to lose weight and I know you struggle with it and your daughter seems to be in a good frame of mind about making healthy choices......why not make it a FAMILY project? Don't have the bad stuff in the house. If you have a little family meeting and don't make it all about your 11 year old so he feels singled out, it might just work. I know the best way to change eating habits for kids is to have parents model for them and maybe Saturdays can be "treat" day when you have pizza or go out or the kids can have what they want. Having lots of healthy choices available to them (fruits, veggies, LF cheese, diet drinks, baked chips...if they have to have chips) will make it easier on all of you and you won't feel like the food police.
Kids will be kids and they'll get it at their friends house or school or whatever, but you don't have to go cold turkey and remove everything....but just keep slowly weeding out and replacing with healthier choices. How about a family game of volleyball or a bike ride or a walk together after dinner? If you can make exercise fun and part of a time when you can all be together, then it doesn't look like a punishment.
Good luck....my kids never had a weight problem....but I sure did as a kid and it ain't no fun for anybody!
Pray, girl....it can move mountains.
Hey peeps,
First I want to say have fun on your trip Sherrie, and dayem your doing so good with planning and all! Wow!!
I'm exhausted, I've been at the docs for most of the day. I'm runniing on fumes and heading to bed. It's totally gonna screw up my day but oh well...I need some zzz's. First I wanted to say you crack me up Lori. Gonna start callin you my drug pimp.ha Two zyrtecs eh?? I also can take my xanax three times a day, but I've actually never done it. So I take it you do both of them together??? Let me know okay, theres been more than once I've wanted to to this. My doc wants me off the zyrtec, but I can't seem to do it. It helps me!! I say he's high, why does he give me al these drugs but won't let me have one of the few I actually like to take!! I'm also taking Crestor..so welcome back my friend.hehe My attack went away...so all is well. But omg I'm going to fall asleep.
Took both lil kids in to the doc. I get so mad at doctors. This is the same guy who wanted me to do a study on my son, thinking something might be wrong with him several months ago. Now today I talked to him about his control issues with food. He basically said there is nothing we can do about it but lock up the cupboards basically. Or of course teach him how to eat correct..etc, etc., ect. Then again on activities. Basically everything I already knew. He said at this age (eleven) they can't control themselves that well with their hunger pains. BAHH, I don't know..I almost think that's crap. I'm sure it's harder for them, but I know my son and I know he does have a LOT more weakness problems than most kids his age. Anyways, enough of that. Then I noticed a bump was still on my daughters leg. SO I had to make another appointmnet for her. The doc wouldn't just look at her friggin leg while we were in the office because it wasn't her appointment. Again..BAHH! So we went away for an hour and had another doctor visit. She has one of the biggest Bakers cysts on her leg that the doctor has ever seen. GREAT! So we had to go get xrays done at the hospital to make sure it is only a cyst.
Thanks for all your ideas, but I've actually done em all!! i rdo NOT keep junk in the house at ALL. I don't even buy pop! Plus I controll all his activities, etc. I'm pretty "on top" of it with him. He just sneaks ANYTHING! He will sneak a loaf of bread if that is the only thing he can get a hold of. He finds his older siblings stash...etc. He will also go without before he eats something he doesn't like. Which I'm actually starting to do more and more with him against what I truly believe in. The doctor today said that it will just take one thing to make him like a certain activity. Like football, etc. Only thing is we live here in Alaska where it's freezing outside all the time for ten months out of the year. I can't do winter activities outside and my husband ..well he flat out refuses. I'll have to come up with something. He is very active outside though in the summer time.
Well I'm off to bed for a nap. I'm past exhausted.
