Good day!
I haven't been on here for a while now.
I spent 2 weeks of February in Los Angeles with my daughter, visiting my sister and her daughter! What a great time we had. The weather was not fabulous and of the 13 days that we were there we had 4 or 5 days of rainy weather but it sure wasn't snow
The temperature was around 55-60 degrees most days, so again not too hot, but lovely just the same.
I figure I didn't do too badly weight wise either.....I did gain 4.5 lbs but considering what I ate, I think that I did do OK. I really didn't eat too badly most of the time BUT bread has always been my weakness and I really have stayed away from it for months now. It seems like every restaurant that we went to in the states they bring you out some form of bread while you are waiting. There were breadsticks, garlic bread rolls, cornbread, and I loved it all. Most of the time I had salads following my bread appetizers, thankfully! My sister is also a great cook and I had more pasta in those 2 weeks than I have had in the past 4 months, but it was yummy.
And as for the dates that I elude to in my title, I just wanted to let you all know that I attended the group session in Halifax in August of 2010. I have just received a letter from the clinic that I have my private consultation on May 10, so progress is being seen
So since I received that letter (a couple days after I returned from vacation) I have become nervous about it all over again. I was kind of leery before I went to the group session and then all that great information reassured me but now that I have my private meeting with them I am all nervous again
I'm hoping that this is a normal thing and the anxiety that I am feeling will go away again but just wanted to share these thoughts with someone. I haven't told anyone that I received my letter with the date yet. I do have a very supportive family but I so far I have put off telling them.
Well I must get going and get some sleep! I have been sick with bronchitis and cold ever since I returned from LA, so tomorrow is my first day back to work, hopefully feeling better after a good night's sleep!

Welcome to livelifeagain!
I am currently waiting for surgery. I have found this forum to be a great source of information and support
Best of luck to you and hopefully your wait time won't be too bad.
The information on the hospital website is great and gives you lots of good advice.
It is great to be on here though, hearing about people's day to day struggles and accomplishments
Take care and happy losing

Hi
just wondering about the facebook page. I tried the link but it took me to facebook but not to any page. I would love to join that. I'm trying to get to a support group meeting in Sackville so hopefully in March. Would love to come to Truro for one sometime too....a little further to go so will wait for good weather, but I think that it'll be worth the drive

Coreena,
It must be a great feeling to know that they have found what is wrong and you can get on with life and losing when they fix the problem
Hopefully it will be no time at all to get you all fixed up and back on the losing track
You have done fabulous over the years by the sounds of things and mostly on your own. This forum is fabulous. I really do hope that one of these days soon, I will be able to make it to a support group meeting. I work out of town 3 days a week, so it just depends on my schedule but I will keep an eye open for when the next meeting is and try to get there.
Take care of yourself and good luck,
Susan

Ernie - I wish I knew how to spell out the sound he makes when he laughs cause that's what I was thinking when I read it!! lol

Don't get me started on Penningtons - I swear they design clothing for two people - Phoebe from the show Charmed (remember?) or Mrs. Roper from 3's Company (in other words, **** or grandma!!!)!!! It's getting better now, but 5 years ago it was horrible! I haven't tried Winners yet, but I won't hold my breath!! lol

Hi Melanie,
Welcome to the forum! There are a few of us here from the Truro area :) I echo what the others have said - it's hard not to turn to food for comfort when it seems there isn't another place to go... or at least no where that we know about... This is a great place to ask questions, 'meet' people & learn a little more about wls. For me it's been amazing - I started out at super morbidly obese too & I'm almost at goal now, and if I can do it...! lol We do have support group meetings in Truro - if you are interested just let me know and I will send you some info.
Glad to have you with us!

They must think we all want ernie shirts lol
It was only last fall that i was able to buy something that fit me from a store. Now that's a feeling lol. I have to hold myself back from buying now...the way i look at it... i won't be long in them, n am going to save my money for the smaller sizes ;) Going to burn/throw out my old clothes so they are not around. So many years when dieting i held on to old clothes for security...i dont need that kind of security lol
I can remember zellers use to have larger sizes...not anymore...penningtons and walmart seem to be where i have found bigger sizes.
