I am six days post op had surgery 5-12. While in the hospital they were getting around 10 cc of fluid from the grenade. Since I started doing my own drain on Tuesday....I empty it twice a day. Each time between 20 and 30 cc. This is more than when in the hospital....Is this ok? Help!! Kel

Just a stupid question from this pre-op-er...What's "grenade"? The only grenade I know of is the kind they throw during wars. What's the difference between that & water? Thanks! Lisa

Hi Kelly, I had a lot of drainage from mine as well after I left the hospital. It was like that for a few days, but by the time it was time to remove it, there was only a little coming out. I had some days where there was more than 40 cc in a day. But just to be on the safe side, call you surgeon and see what they think you should do. Oh and welcome to the losing side, your incredible journey has begun. Shannon Arnold

Thank you so much for all your responses. I did call the surgeons office and they said it is because of me being so much more active than I was in the hospital and that the amount is not anything to worry about. Again thanks for your responses. Kel
