I will probably get there while you are in with him. My apt is at 10:30am and I have to trek out from the city, pick up my car on the south shore then head up to him. So I will probably see you inbetween your appointment and mine. I am definately feeling much better, BUT I have noticed if I eat too much Splenda the curse comes back! But I have to say since Saturday I really haven't had any problems until last night when I was a SPLENDA PIGGY! THANK GOD! Oh and the coolest news is I am wearing my first pair of size 12 pants EVER! Glad it's all over and I hope you aren't feeling too bad. Now how long do you have to wait for the results? Was Larry there while they did the test? Joanne

Yes he was, he is my best friend nowadays, didnt you know? He said he saw a lot of stasis but doesnt look mechanical at all, but needs to really study it. I will see him next friday and I am assuming they will tell me what is the deal and what can be done. I asked him if he is going to watch Tavias guts tape over and over again for fun. He said he will just like when he was younger b/c he was glued to the TV all day long watching bugs bunny cartoons. I told him maybe I can sell the tape on the internet(like the paris hilton tape) to bariatric surgeons to make some money to pay for all of these stupid medical bills, right. Take care.

Hi Tavia, I'm glad to hear it's all over with. I hope that this is what it takes to help your doc figure out what to do to remedy the problem...Aren't there meds that increase bowel motility (Reglan)? They've probably already considered this, or maybe it's not appropriate for your particular case. Whatever the case may be, I wish for a speedy solution. Tavia Guts, the Movie. That was good for a chuckle. Lol. Keep up your terrific spirits. xoxo Amy

Hey Amy! You are smart! We have tired Reglan( and everything other pill that helps w/delayed gastric emptying) and they don't seem to do anything but make me very anxious and then fall asleep. We thought MAYBE the serotonin in zelnorm might be the miracle thing for me with my eating AND poopy problems. Well it definitely helped me go #2(a little too much actually) but did nothing w/the eating problem. Oh well. Thank you though for your suggestion and thinking about me! I means alot. Take care. Hi Tavia, Glad its over for ya. Hopefully they come up with a plan that will work. Is your belly ache from the roll you ate or from the stuff they put on it? I find that I cannot eat any breads unless toasted. I tried a couple bites of a biscut one time and thought I was either going to or pass out, I had such horrible cramps. So I think it got a little stuck, it went away after a few minutes and I had drank some water to help get it down. Don't be embarassed for getting a tummy ache, as for the poopy heads this is for them. I hope you feel better now. As for your new "do" you look awesome. It must take you no time at all to get ready. Have a great day! Shannon Arnold

Hi, The bread made me sick. Stupid bread!! Once I get these symptoms they can go one for hours b/c my whole GI system goes into gag mode, which isnt fun. The whole point of this test was not to see why I can't tolerate bread but why I can't tolerate pretty much anything that isn't a liquid consistency. He just needed to see an extreme example (toast/roll) to really see where, when and why I get these symptoms when I eat anything past a liquid consistency. He just picked one of the most extreme example, toast/roll, to find where, when and why I get these symptoms when I eat anything past a liquid consistency. My problem isn't a mechanical one(which would show up on a CT-Scan, normal barium upper GI and x-ray) but a really bad functional one. Well, it is b/c my whole roux limb completely does not work. Why? It just seems to be this is the way my body has taken to the bypass...not very well. Let's be honest, it is a pretty unnatural thing to do to your GI system and it seems my body is rejecting it is refusing to work, if at all. *sigh* Thanks for the kind words! Be well. Tavia
