What did you do before surgery?
I don't think its zany at all. That is what I do for a living. Ha Ha Ha.
There is nothing wrong with treating yourself to something nice. And you just may want to treat yourself to pedicures while you are healing also. It is difficult to reach your feet without pulling on your tummy after surgery.
Anyway, Good luck, and can't wait to see ya on the losing side.

Well first I'd like to say good luck and God bless! I can only hope my day will come soon. I haven't even gotten a date yet ! I have begun to speak and write in my journal things that must be done in the event I do not make it ( through the surgery)! I don't think there is anything wrong with pampering yourself! It's something we as women need to do more often. More times than none we are caretakers of the world around us. we neglect ourselves because we are so busy taking care of everyone else. So Good For You! And the reasoning for "no" nail polish during surgery is the have a machine called a pulse ox. It's kind of a clip that goes on your finger or toe and it measures the level of oxygenation in your blood! That is how they are able to tell or hopefully prevent serious respiratory issues. They are able to titrate the amounts of oxygen used by you during the procedure.

You are correct, Michelle. I used to work in the OR and sometimes they only make you take the polish off one nail......depends on the hospital though. Anyways, Traci, it sure felt good having it done. I think we should always take the time for ourselves once in awhile. If you are like me, you take toooo much time caring for others and neglecting yourself.
