Boy do I know what you mean.  Three weeks post op I went back to work.  The second day back, the company ordered pizza for everyone.  I decided I might be able to have a little cheese and sauce.  BIG, BIG mistake.  It hurt so bad!!!!   I chewed the heck out of it, but I think it was just too heavy on the new pouch.  I have now learned to follow my eating instructions to the letter.  I don't want to experience that again!!   Good Luck!!

I am allowed cheese at the start of week 3 post op.....But you may be right...THAT cheese may be a tad to heavy!!!!!!...........Even with all the chewing in the world....Might not be the best selection of cheese right now! Thanks

i dont suggest that you do pizza just yet.  Pizza is my favorite food in the world and let me tell you of everything that i was not allowed to eat pizza hurt the most lol....What you can do is some ricotta with sauce for a while to hold you.  Mozerella might be a little stringy for you early out as well.  Hang in there , eventually you can eat pizza. I eat it often, mostly the top but you will get there..... LisaMarie

I was definely not contemplating eating real Pizza...just trying to quench the mental craving by having cheese and sauce!!!!   I was thinking the mozzarella would be a bit hard on the new tummy too....But the ricotta......hmmmmmmmm..there's an idea!!!!!!   I was also told I could have 1 slice each of cheese, ham and turkey.....so I could imaginemyself having a nice hero/sub/hoagie...... Thanks for the suggestions!!! Hugs Jane

Jane, I know that craving and early on I would have part skim ricotta cheese with some carb control tomatoe sauce, if was I was really crazy I would add some shredded mozzarella cheese. It was so good and filled that void! I hope that helps!

Hey there! I totally understand your love of pizza. Personally I can't live without it! I have been eating pizza (now and then) since 1 month post op. I usually just eat the top, but it is delicious and satisfying! So, keep in mind that you WILL be able to have pizza again. Another thing I like is ricotta cheese with pizza sauce and melted mozzarella on top...yummy! Good luck!

Jane: Hello! Well I would caution you at this stage to do sauce/cheese it may prove too much on a early healing pouch, both heavy and possibly acidic/irritating to the pouch (sauce), BUT I would say you could try as LM suggests the ricotta cheese nuked w/ sauce still may be acidic bt the ricotta isn't as heavy or needing chewing as the mozzarella. You will be able to seat pizza soon enough, for me I can eat a slice now, 2 if I ait 15 min after 1st sadly...cravings happe, sometimes driven by food porn tx (LOL commericals and food network etc) as I call it, but sometimes b/c we feel deprived, I sometimes look at all I gain not what I am limited by, it is not always a successful way for me to avoid things but sometimes. Be well. Hugs......
