This has been something I've been wondering for a while and greentshirt mentioned something about it in one of her posts so I thought I would ask. Do all bariatric surgeons make the pouch the same size for RNY?  My doctor says mine will be about the size of an egg.  Does that sound right? Thanks!

That's exactly how my surgeon described the size of my pouch.

I know that once you are on more solid foods they want it to stretch a bit to hold a 1/2C and then 1C.  Don't quote me but it's something like that. I was just wondering what size the surgeon makes it at first :).

yeah i think it does stretch after being out so long. plus everyone is different also.

i can eat a cup of chili, plus when i eat dinner i use a salad plate and looks like more on my plate too.

My doctor also told me the pouch is the size of an egg!  I guess I'll find out when I get some solids in there, won't I?

That'll be interesting for sure!  Good luck with that!  Seems like you are doing great so far!

pardon the ignorance but I am trying to find out what "RNY" means.  Is that a different surgery than lapband?
