Officially a NYer now!

Hi everyone, I posted awhile back that we were relocating to Painted Post, NY. Well it is official...sorta. Hubby started his job on Monday and currrently I am here in NY for a second interview for a job. I hope to be here full time by mid April. I just wanted to again say hello. I know a couple people said before they are near this area. If someone could tell me a good doctor...just PCP...in the area I would appreciate it. Also when and where a support group meeting is held. It would be great to meet up with someone in person if they live close by. We are joing the HealthWorks fitness center in Painted Post tomorrow so if anyone works out there I would also love to here from you!! Hugs to all!! Michelle

Hi Michelle, Welcome to the area! I live about 10 minutes from Painted Post, in Campbell. I have not been to Health Works but I hear that it is a great place. As far as PCP, I am not that pleased with mine and am thinking of changing. Did you have your surgery in this area? There are support group meetings every second Monday evening of the month from 6-8 at Corning East High, go in the front doors, turn left go down long hallway and veer to the right when most of the way down the hallway, then go to the library that is where the meeting is. Hope to see you there, I did not go this month because it was my daughters 21st birthday the next day, and had to get the house prepared for company. The meetings are real casual and very comfortable, and you can talk about anything. Good luck on your interview! And again welcome to the area. Shannon Arnold 257/197/130???

Hi Shannon! Thanks so much for the information! I will definitley attend those meetings! I have no idea where the high school is but am sure by May (which will probably be the first one that I can attend) I will have learned the area a bit better. I am embaressed to say I have no idea where Campbell is. I really know how to get to Corning and back to Painted Post and that is it! I did not have my surgery around here. We are moving here from Pittsburgh so my surgery took place there. I was a year out on Tuesday and am just as happy with this tool now as I was then!! I look forward to getting to know you Shannon!
