Hey guys,
She was one (if not the most) *****est person I knew. She was 95 years old. She went peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital early in the morning. She has had the most productive life of anyone I know.
She was never married/no children, had a Ph.D in art history, lived in greenwich village her whole life and was the curator of the frick museum for many years.
She crossed boundaries that women at her time never did. She educated herself and didn't let anyone define her self worth. To me, she defined what Maya Angelou meant by being a "phenomenal woman".
I loved her to death and she was beyond supportive of me. She has been my inspiration/influence for becoming as educated as I can be. Two days ago when I went to visit her, she told me "Don't give up, you need to keep the faith."

Your great aunt sounds wonderful! You must take after her ...after all you have been nothing but an inspiration and model of strength since I've joined the board! Someone influential was surely your mentor!
Take care and know that the spirit lives on...you should always be able to discuss issues with her and receive the benefit of her knowledge.
