Dumping is acky pooh
I am wondering, does Dumping affect everyone the same way?
I just had my surgery on the 27th of February, and Ive dumped 3 times....Guess I am learning the hard way...
Last night I tried a can of low carb, low sugar vanilla slim fast...I thought it tasted nasty so silly me added a few fresh strawberries and a big chunk banana all smashed up...so stupid me counted it as a drink and not a meal...Therefore I drank way too much....way too much sugar from the fruit...So 20 minutes later, I thought cool, I can now eat my supper....So I stuffed in a small piece of baked chicken, and a few garden green beans...Later, I started getting a mouth full of saliva...Then I started hurting from the middle of my chest bone clean thru to my back...Almost like a gall bladder attack, which I had removed years ago...Then I started the dry gags...Then we all know the rest....Not to sound gross but up came alot of clear like, slimey yucky stuff...Then I thought I was feeling better, then the gas would attack me again, and then the gagging started again...This went on for like 1 1/2 hours....My son took his fist and pounded on my back to help releave some of the gas...Does anyone else have this problem at times? If so, do you have any quick remedies for it? Perhaps I should ask my surgeon if theres something I can take to help.....All I can say is, today I am very careful of what I am eating...Am eating slower and chewing things up really good....I have a very high pain tollerance, but last night was really a bad time for me....Would love some imput on this please....I am very excite about losing weight...I have lost 43 pounds since my surgery...Since my highest weight since the end of Jan, my grand total is 75 pounds....Ive seen such big improvements already...Surgeon took me off 2 water pills, a potassium pill, and my diabeta tablet....Soon He said that I will probably get off my oxygen that Ive been on for 3 years because I was stupid and allowed myself to put on so much weight, that it was killing me...He gave me just a few years to live if i didnt get the weight off....That was 3 years ago, and I am still alive and kicking...Thanks to God and my surgeon Dr Derrick Martin out of Miami Valley in Dayton...Hes a sweetheart, very compassionate and understanding...
Everyone have a wonderful day....and may You be blessed with much happiness, and a healthy life...

Tammy,
Sorry that you were feeling so bad. It can't be fun. The only thing I can say is I had my surgery on Jan. 16 and I don't eat near that much food at once. You're right about the shakes. I count those as a meal when I make them. I would never be able to eat an entire chicken breast and I even have trouble with chicken sometimes. There are times when it just doesn't go down. You're doing great with your weight loss, just make sure you weigh and measure your portions. I have been using Fitday.com to log everything in. You'd be amazed how many calories and carbs some things have. It helps me stay clear of those. Good luck to you!
