The Ohio State University has a bariatrics program - Dr. Needleman and Mikami... so does Mt. Carmel Hospital on the east side of town.

You have options!!!  All excellent...just depends on which side of town you live...

Good luck!

Topic: RE: Medicare how long for approval
Thanks for the reply!   I've been to the info session @ OSU In Columbus, and go for all the evaluations on November 3rd.   I had taken the "Learn" class there this summer and because of that there are a few hoops I don't have to jump through.
I'm involved in a diabeties class that is sponsered  by the state of ohio and it gives me access to the "Y", I'm hoping to be at least a little healthier before the surgery and maintain it.
Would you mind telling me about the "switch" good and bad?

Thanks

medicare does not preapprove.  As long as your bmi is over 35 and you have like diabities or sleep apnea or high blood pressure... etc it usally goes thru... I had a bmi of 64 and sleep apnea and it went thru no prob

Topic: RE: I am Approved
My surgery isn't until Dec 1, and keep in mind my insurance approval came through around Sep 13. So I'm having to "hold my horses" for quite a while.  But that's been ok because it's allowed me time to thoroughly train someone to do my job at work, and I'm able to mentally adjust my mind to the thought of surgery.

Sometimes when things happen quickly for me, I get overwhelmed.

do you get any psychological, nutritional and sugery info.  I had several info sessions before my surgery that I think were crticial in my success.  Dr. S is part of the same network but may teach his paitents differently than mine did.  You may want to attend a support group to discuss your thoughts, they are mondays at 7pm (today) at the Kettering Weight Loss center that serves his office.
