What is your current job?  And what is your dream job?

Current job:  Child and Youth Counselor/Consultant - manager of the youth services department for a large municipality

Dream job:  Counselor to the stars in Hollywood with regular appearances on Oprah.  lol

And you??

 

Currently: I'm at home with my children.  I have previously been a parole officer and worked with sexually abuse girls and youth.

Dream Job: I would love to own a Bridal Boutique!!!  I love anything bridal and would probably try everything on now that I'm thinner!

My theory about addicts of any kind is that they are incredibly smart people who have so much going on in their heads that they don't know what to do with it all or how to slow it down so they turn to substances, sex, food etc etc. I could learn so much from these people.

It could be my sense of "save the world" too. I am incredibly passionate about addictions. I started my Human Services Diploma but never could fini**** because of cash problems but I would love to get into this. I love listening to people, I love problem solving, I just love helping. I want to make a difference.

My very first boyfriend was an addict. I guess thats what got me into it in the first place.

I agree with you for the most part about them being very intelligent or extremely creative energy wise and like you said have so much swimming in their heads they don't know what to do with it.  I think that you'd be awesome in that as you see past the surface to what is below and fundamental in causing their problem.

Fabulous perspecitve.  Having worked with many additced youth, I agree... so intelligent, so creative.  I think you've found your calling.

Current job: work in group homes with the developmentally delayed adults. 

Dream Job.: NO LAUGHING!   I absolutely love monkeys, I would love to have any job that involved monkey, whether that be research in the outback or a position at the zoo...lol

If all else fails! I love the computer and could spend hours looking up information..So i could and would love to do research of any kind....
