replace recota cheese for cottage cheese????

I am baking something that clls for recota cheese but onnly have cottage cheese can i substitute this....and it is not lazagnia...lol...it is a protien brownie...from eggface....thnx

You can but I'd drain the cottage cheese really well first then I'd put it in the food processor and pulse it as cottage cheese is larger curd than ricotta.  If you don't drain it will be too watery and if you leave the cheese too big, it will be obvious it's in there.  Ricotta is really smooth so you want to get your cottage cheese to that texture.
