my first optifast!
I actually just had my first one too and didn't mind it (actually kind of liked it... I must be one of the weird ones LOL). I had a chocolate one with 500mls instead of 300 mls of water and served it over ice. It wasn't bad. I bought one of those shaker ball bottles instead of putting it in a blender because I've heard that it creates so much bubbles in a blender and gives it an odd texture. Maybe you could try something like that?
Hope it gets better!

hey! have a shaker ball bottle aswell! perhaps adding more water might help. i think i am just going to chug them when i have them that way i dont taste them as much and gets them out of the way! had vanilla and it was grose but the chocolate i dont find much better oh well... eye on the prize only 54 more to go haha!
I'm nearly done mine - last one is this Sunday night.
I really don't mind the taste of either one. Just make sure they're really, really cold. I use both the shaker and blender. In the blender, I crush the ice first, add about 400 ml of cold (from the fridge) water, then blend it for about 10 sec. or less. Don't get too bubbly for me. I use the shaker from GNC with the metal ball inside. This really helps break up the chunks.
Have you tried adding flavours? Crystal Light in the vanilla is nice. I also add chilled decaf coffee into the chocolate (about 50/50 with the water) for an Iced Capp. I don't drink coffee, but I am enjoying these like this. But again, it needs to be very, very cold.
Bulk Barn sells flavouring oils that you can add as well. They're called LorAnn Oils and are usually at the checkouts because the bottle is so small. You don't need very much to add flavour as they are very concentrated. I like the butterscotch for both, watermelon in the vanilla and the banana cream in the chocolate.
I also found some great glasses for them. Zellers has plastic "Pilsner" glasses - those tall beer glasses. They hold all the OF just perfectly, even with ice cubes. I even have a margarita glass!! You've got to keep it interesting or you'll dread every sip.
Just remember - Optifast is a short term sacrifice for a long term result.
Good luck!
