A year ago today at this time 1:53 I was in la la land while Dr. Reed worked his magic.

A year later, I'm down 122lbs and 18 sizes.

Here are my stats.
286lbs at heaviest, 164 currently I started at a size 4x top and 26-28 pants. I’m now wearing medium tops and Size 10/12 in pants and dresses.   In my old life, I would go into Penningtons and if something fit I would buy 4 of them in different colours and rotate. My dressing for the week would be the same 5 outfits but on different days. The same ugly flat black shoes because my feet hurt and were so wide I couldn’t wear pumps. Now I have about 8 pairs of fashion boots, don’t even want to count the number of shoes, and my 2 closets are stuffed with new trendy outfits. The fashionesta in me has come out.
I snored like a bear, was as big as one as well. Kept my girlfriends awake at night when we went away. So embarrassing. But the worst embarrassing moment was when a bunch of us went to Cedar Point on Vacation and I couldn’t get the lap bar down and had to get off the ride. It’s one thing to say, “Oh I don’t want to go on that ride"(Knowing we wouldn’t fit) but to actually get there and have to get off while the rest ride, well, needless to say I wanted to run and hide and cry. I was devastated.   You all know what I’m saying, you’ve been there, experienced that and know my shame. So embarrassed when I met any of my sons friends. When I would walk in the mall I would imagine people saying. “babummp babump, look at two ton tessy over there.   But that was a YEAR AGO…… No more. I will NEVER go back there again. I quit smoking, quit the diet pop and I don’t even miss them. I crave fruits and vegi’s. Yup, that’s true. I’m not perfect, I have had the odd piece of chocolate but not a whole bar, and I’ve had a few chips, but not the whole bag. That’s all it takes to satisfy that craving. I have never stayed true to anything for so long EVER. So my tool is keeping me in line. I’m confident I will be able to continue this route.   For the most part, I’m sugar free and I watch my white carbs, but still enjoy the odd slice of WW toast and Dreamfields Pasta.   I didn’t have any issues after surgery, and lost my weight pretty steadily. No major stalls or food issues. I did dump once early out, on Watermelon of all things, I have not put anything fried in my mouth in over a year and don’t want to go down that road. I get all my vitamins in and water. I did not lose any hair, not sure why, but that was a bonus. I follow the rules of protein at every meal but I’m human and if I want a piece of cake at someones birthday, then I’ll have a sliver. I eat what my family eats just a lot less of it.   Still don’t drink with meals, that’s a huge one with me, but I have been known to have the odd drink before dinner or in the evening. And yes, wine hits me like a ton of bricks. So one is usually my limit.   I had sleep apnea and high cholesterol, daily back aches and carpel tunnel plus, ever swollen feet and ankles. My feet haven’t swollen in a year, my cholesterol is so low it won’t even register on the scale, carpel tunnel is gone. I have had maybe 3 backaches in the past year.  I don’t snore anymore but I find I still need the cpap machine albeit at a much lower setting.   Went from a  chest size 50 DD to 38C Waist was 54, down to 33., 21 inches lost , 21 INCHES.... Hips…56" to a 41" – 15 Inches Lost

I've lost 122 lbs. THAT'S SUPERMODEL..    I don’t think you have to ask if I’d do it all over again or if I have any regrets. Yes, I do have regrets. I wish I had of known about WLS sooner. But I think I’ve given myself another 20 years of high quality life to live and I’m thankful for that.   I’m also thankful for all my friends and family that have given me 110% support during my journey, I’ve met with very few skeptics along the way.   Now the big thank yous………………The Cambridge Crew when I was waiting for surgery and  The Waterloo Support Group afterwards. Those folks are fantastic, offering up advise on my chicken neck (Thank’s Shiloh) and putting up with my endless shopping before the meetings.    And to the people on this board, I can’t count how many times I thought I knew something only to find out from daily postings that there is another way, or the science behind something. There are some very knowledgeable people out there and we can all count on them for the facts. Thanks to the vets that keep posting several years out, we value your experience and knowledge. I hope I will be one of them as time goes on.   I love the before and after photos and the WOW moments. My whole year has been one big WOW moment. I followed the people that went before me and watched them hit goal and knew that I too would get there with time and patience.   I’m hoping to lose another 10lbs over the summer, will give me something to focus on and keep me accountable. As we all know, once we hit goal in our old lives,  we tend to go back to old ways, so for me I’m hoping this and my new tool will keep me on track.   OK my big long story is done, now the hard part begins; maintenance.

So as promised her is the photo.  I'm loving my new self.

WATCH OUT WORLD, HERE I COME.
